Why fans? Why now?

When parties and balls became a popular thing to do in England the fan was all the rage.

The hot environment of many overdressed people in one place could get a little sweaty so they needed something to keep their make up on.

The Fan was the hidden treasure everyone was looking for. 

Fans were made uniformly and would go up to 12 inches long. 

The decoration of the fan was chosen by the lady.
