I hate the push that you can quit addictions by pure willpower because it perpetuates the idea that people who can't have committed a moral failing of some kind. We all may know some people who did quit an addiction cold turkey, and with no aid, you may be one of them. And that's fantastic, but it is not the norm. It is more than okay to need help to quit an addiction. Relapse is also part of the process. Many people relapse several times before they are able to quit for good. Let's have compassion.

ALCOHOL. It’s a very common dependence and cold turkey CAN KILL YOU. A lot of people don’t know this. Doctors can literally prescribe beer in the ER to save a life.

I'd like to add a true story for all those who want to quit alc or well the fact its pushed that you can just quit.

This story takes place in August of 2025

C was an avid alcoholic used to work in the bars in 2020/2021 but while not bartending he was still in the bars and drinking

This man had gotten multiple duis to the point he lost his license but did he stop there, no

This man also was on parole for drinking related crimes and he had an at home breathalyzer that he had to use at a specific time but he'd do the math and still drink while in between and not get caught (this had happened multiple times between 2020-2025 btw)

Eventually his girlfriend got fed up in 2025 and told him that if he wanted them to stay together they'd have to get better her way then she went to work and C decided to quit drinking right then and there

Then flash forward to the next morning his girlfriend was gonna go to the store and get him atleast one shooter to help him because she didn't realize he had stopped and then he went out with the dog and his girlfriend was getting ready to leave but when he came back inside all his girlfriend could hear was a large bang and the dog barking

What had happened was C had a seizure due to the alcohol withdrawal but his body could not handle the seizure so it lead to a heart attack and very quickly his organs started shutting down

They had him on life support for hours hoping he'd make it but unfortunately when they did the test to see if he had any life in him he sid not but he was kept on the machines for a few hours more so he could have some of his organs donated

And ironically the only organ that could be donated was his liver, but he still saved somebody's life

I read evrey post on this account tonight... why- did I post literally anything that I did ever? Like wtf was I doing?

Illegal activities, drugs, alcohol, sexual implications, feeding on lust, sins, masturbating, blasphemy, wanting to be a priest, God complex, desperation, and vampires/vampyrs.

Like that is the main description of my account. Which I've had since I was 13/14 :( I almost wanna start over and forget about this monstrosity of an acc.

I've always hated this acc with a deep passion, but I do believe it is about time I start over.

I am hardly even "compte Jaques" anymore aswell, I don't even really speak French on a regular basis anymore.

Like I am not Jack, ya' know like I've changed.

I honestly tried so fucking hard to stick to old habits but due to unforseen circumstances everything is diffrent now. Things are real, ya' know?

I may one day tell you about what I am talking about, but at this very second, it would not be in good taste to tell you anymore than I just did.

Now, writing this I have indeed decided on abandoning this account, and that means all my other accounts associated with this one.

I do not want to stop being on this app, I'm an adult now (been an adult for like 6(?) months already) and I feel disgusted with my posts. Especially the ones of sexual nature, now I will not delete anything- frankly, this account and the old one before it are archives of how I was.

I'm different now... I swear to all that is holy, I'm different...

listen I know it's heartbreaking that Claudia dies and it's understandable to wish she didn't, but let's please not accuse the writers of fridging her. to do so is a fundamental misunderstanding of the story and is frankly insulting to the intelligence and skill of the writers of the show.

Claudia's death, and the overwhelming grief and regret her parents experience because of it, is quite literally the point of the entire story. she dies because Anne's daughter Michele died of leukemia when she was five years old and there was nothing she or her husband could do to prevent it.

writing IWTV was how Anne coped with the unimaginable loss of a parent losing her child. she created a story about a little girl that could not die and then killed her anyway. Claudia's death is a senseless, unavoidable tragedy, just like Michele's was. the grief that haunts Louis and Lestat for the rest of their lives is the same grief that haunted Anne and her husband.

so when you're accusing people of killing Claudia off to benefit a story about two men, please remember that in real life sometimes parents lose their children. please remember Michele Rice.

she's the reason Claudia exists.

she's also the reason Claudia cannot be saved.

What's the quote again? Uhh, something along the lines of "when you lose a parent, you gain mortality. When you lose a child, you gain immortality."

The whole story is how Anne dealt with her grief. It was a coping strategy. In some ways, it seems like louis and lestat caused Claudia's demise, but in reality, it was probably just Anne and Stan having complicated grief, and they probably felt like Michele's death was somehow their fault. The whole story is based on complicated grief and self inserts.
