Chilchuck and his Union agitating for Better Wages is an Integral part of Laios Vision I knew he was a Real One

I’m thinking about Nao from Skip and Loafer again, as one does.

I love how her journey as a trans woman is a journey that came with a lot of hurt, confusion, and rejection, but that in the end, it was about becoming her authentic self. Learning that she can love herself, and that others will love her as well.

It’s so important to me that she gets to be a role model and point of guidance for Mika- a girl who has struggled her entire life with her own self-image and how others perceive her. I love the parallels between Nao’s experiences and Mika’s. The themes of self-hatred, the fear of rejection by others, the slow realization that you ARE worthy of love, and that there will always be people out there who will accept you as you are so long as you do so for them in turn. And that the people around you are scared and insecure about these things, too. I love that they are both learning these things from each other.

Idk. I wish I had a more eloquent way to put everything, but I love how Nao’s story of being a trans person is ultimately a story of being extremely human. Learning that although her experiences ARE unique, she’s not so far-removed from the experiences of others as she might think. And ain’t that the theme of this entire series.
