idk who needs to hear this but your body is loveable
I feel this completely.
Be you but remember 👆
👏 so important!
I just wanna be romanced I want flowers and little love letters and random phone calls and lots and lots of affection
‘Deep Sea Dalliance’ 🐠
Just wanna spend the day wandering around a cute lil seaside town holding hands with the love of my life tbh
i dont think its talked about enough that it is so hard to be disabled and into bdsm. so shoutout to everyone else who cant do long sessions, or use rope tightly, or do anything their heart desires because of a disability. i get it. you are not alone.
also. adapt your kink spaces to fit your needs. use a yoga chaise for riding and doggystyle to help with pain or holding oneself up, if your shoulders dislocate like mine, cuff your hands in front instead of the back, have a partner that knows what to do and to stop if you fall unconscious, seize, or are in pain, and most importantly, speak up, take breaks.
your disabled body matters!!! (and so do your kinks)
Just an important reminder for CNC/R@pe play:
Safewords ARE allowed. For those of us that were raped in the past, it can give us that power back that we didn’t get back then. Even if you don’t feel like you’re going to use it, always have one established, just in case. Saying “no”, or “stop” is common in R@pe play, and your dom may have trouble figuring out whether you’re acting or not. So always, always have a safeword.
It can help us heal our trauma if we were SA’d/R@ped. Like safewords, it gives us our power back, that we didn’t have previously. By playing out a scene like this, which requires a lot of trust, it can help for us to overcome what has happened by practicing with someone we love, all while bringing the bond closer.
Rape play/CNC is not always fair game. You have to remember, if a sub has hard limits or triggers, those should never, EVER be used during play. Even if you’re acting out a violent scene, if your sub hates being slapped (for personal reasons, triggers, etc.) do NOT slap them. It doesn’t matter that it’s violent. You still have to respect your subs, and subs, respect your doms and don’t expect them to do something in a scene that they aren’t comfortable with either. Thank you! ☺️
so important.
Every single person interested in more harsh kinks should know this!!
Safewords aren’t simply allowed, they’re required. To play without a safeword when common-language safewords like ‘no’ or ‘stop’ will be ignored would mean that the sub or bottom has no way to revoke consent, which turns rape play into actual rape. If you have no way of revoking consent, you have no way of truly consenting, either.
Today is a hard day for me. Today would have been my due date. I remember sitting in the OB office and putting the date on my calendar after seeing your heartbeat on the screen. I was so numb in that moment. Disbelief despite what I was seeing with my own eyes. Wondering what was wrong with me. With my body. Wondering not about whether I would see this day that the nurse gave me and asked me to carry upstairs on a slip of paper to share with the doctor. Wondering when someone would pop out and say "surprise! You're being Punk'd". Even as I heard her say "I don't know how this happened. I'm not sure what to say." And then asking me "What are you thinking?" My honest raw answer was "I have no fucking idea." I remember getting that out before the flood gates opened and the fear overwhelmed me with tears.
Today I sit in the sunshine. I wonder about you. About what you would be like. You personality transitioning from toddler to child. Gaining independence. I sit with the incredulous thoughts of what life could be like, having a teen, an almost teen and a five year old. I can imagine you following in your brother and sister's steps - doggedly asking to be included in the innocent way that both annoys and secretly pleases older siblings. I can almost imagine childish drawings still on the fridge doors and crayons and paints mixed in with big kid art supplies. Toys mixed in with the teenage books and games. I am filled with a sense of wonder and also with a grief that feels so overwhelming, it threatens to drag me under it's undertow.
It's funny, because people say time heals everything. Fuck that. It doesn't. Pieces of my heart feel just as raw, just as painfully eviscerated as they did then. It's just that today, I don't let myself give in to the pain and the anger and heartbreaking despair over the end. Today my mind feels all those feels and focuses to beginnings. There is pain and anger and a rawness. Grief pulls at the stitches holding together the pieces of my heart and the tears come. And yet, I feel a profound sense of gratitude for you. Without you I wouldn't have met @appalachianmountainlion . Without you, I wouldn't know the true depths of a mother's love. Of the profound consequences of choice. Of the constant battle that some parents have to face - simultaneously wanting to pull their children so tight and never let them go for fear and anguish and heartbreaking love and being asked to balance that with allowing them to be as unblemished by grief and sadness and loss as you can allow them to be. To not let it define them. Shape them. Mold them. At least not in ways that will never leave them the way it will never leave me. I would never understand the depth of rage and anger and blame and resentment towards another human.
So today I turn my face toward the sun and let myself feel all the feels. To dream. To remember. And mostly, to never forget.
The safer we feel, the more we can access of ourselves, including our deepest desires and shadow sides. 😌
Thank you @appalachianmountainlion for making me feel safe. ❤️
