Stupid ramble about Rainbow Friends
Okay so there’s been recent discussions about Rainbow Friends Chapter Three being more of a possibility, and while I do feel some excitement for it, I’m also kind of skeptical about everything and also the fact I’m trying to not get my hopes up real high.
Sorry if I sound like a downer btw but, part of me thinks that the devs are only active now to make a new game and leave Rainbow Friends collecting dust like they did with Spider, but also maybe they’re not??? I’m not too sure tbh but regardless, what will this chapter even have? Will there be more lore that makes the story of everything clearer than it was beforehand? Or will it just be more lorebait that’ll reveal nothing about anything?
We still don’t know what motives Red/The Scientist has even after so long. We also still don’t know how Blue lost his eye. What does Purple even look like???? Where is Pink??? And what’s the deal with The Technician/dude from Chapter Two????
There’s definitely more questions that I have regarding this game and its lore but still
Atp just have the next chapter have a long expository cutscene explaining everything 😭
Also another thing that’s been on my mind as well
If it is Rainbow Friends Chapter Three that’s being worked on, I wonder why the devs are bringing it back after almost three years. Like ik PPT and GOBB also take a while to release new chapters (especially the former since I do know that GOBB pumped out chapters like there was no tomorrow back when it was first released), but there was still updates like trailers, teasers, and other content to keep fans interested, but Rainbow Friends? There’s nothing. There was only two things regarding Chapter Two before its release and that was a teaser of the inside of Blue’s Castle and an image of Blue, Green, and Orange outside of it with a release date. Nothing in between. And nothing after that.
And by now, the hype for Rainbow Friends is mostly gone at this point. Not saying there’s people who still like it and even still wait for the third chapter, but still Rainbow Friends isn’t that talked about anymore compared to Poppy Playtime and even Dandy’s World!
My best guess to why Rainbow Friends could possibly be brought back for a new chapter is probably because either the devs need to pay rent and/or they want to try to get themselves back into the spotlight to piggyback off of the popularity of Dandy’s World/try to pretend that the lawsuit thing never happened but who knows
