for context the captain of an aircraft carrier requested aide for his ship as his crew was being stricken with covid-19 and the trump admin’s response was to relieve him of duty and then have the acting sec of the navy insult and belittle him to the crew while basically telling the crew their lives don’t matter

in the leaked audio of the latter, one of the crew members summed it up succinctly with a very loud ‘what the fuck?’

Don’t let people try and spin it on you either, the captain tried to get this issued fixed the proper way, but was ignored. So he sent it up in a way he knew would force the navy’s hand (basically by going public and making the navy look bad). They claim they fired him because he broke regulations, but really it’s cause he made them look bad. Captain Crozier willingly gave up his career to protect his sailors, man is a fucking legend.
