eeeeee!! i saw classical music and now i'm excited!
when you say classical music, do u mean music from the classical period specifically? (mozart, beethoven's earlier stuff etc?) or is it as an umbrella term for all the music back then (baroque, classical, romantic, impressionist etc)
(i did gcse music, i geek out when it comes to music :3 i play the piano too and i listen to a lot of chopin's piano music so if u want recs specifically for those then i can give lots and lots!!)
I do mean classical music as a broader umbrella term, rather than music from the Classical period specifically.
I find myself enjoying music from all sorts of periods, and I do not think I have a particular favorite yet. I have been listening to everything from Baroque and Classical to Romantic and 20th-century composers.
I have especially been enjoying Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich lately, although I am still discovering many other composers and pieces.
And you playing piano and listening to Chopin sounds lovely! I would be more than happy to hear your recommendations. I am always glad to have more music to add to my ever-growing playlist. 🤍
if u ever do find urself wanting to get into chopin, here's lots of pieces of theirs that i like!
waltzes (pieces in 3/4)
op 64 no 1: minute waltz (le valse du petit chien/puppy waltz): one of chopin's shortest waltzes and the first one of his pieces i learnt! he called it the puppy waltz because he saw a puppy chasing its tail round and round in a circle, desite it's name it is NOT supposed to be played in a minute (it's actually 2 minutes), i tried playing it in a minute and i flopped ;-;
waltz in e minor no 14 (i don't think this has an opus number): another waltz that i learnt! it has one of my favourite beginnings (forced me to practise my arpeggios) and there's engagement from both hands instead of being too right-hand heavy in my opinion
waltz in c-sharp minor (op 64 no 2): i learnt this one as well, this one is pretty well-known, it forced me to get good at my scales and i like this key signature
waltz in b minor (forgot the opus numbers and everything, bleh >.<): i learnt this piece as well, i find the staccato parts when the key changes from major -> minor very charming
waltz in a minor is the easiest one of chopin's waltzes that i learnt, it's really simple but it's really nice to learn, i like the arpeggios :>
études (these are pieces that are meant to help you practise techniques, i have started some but i cannot finish them ;-; it's too much sight reading for me)
i prefer the op 10 ones compared to the op 25 ones but each to their own, they're all very cool to listen to and they all torture a pianist equally:
my favourite from the op 10 ones:
1 (waterfall)
2 (chromatic)
3 (i forgot the name but this is a nice slower one)
4 (torrent)
12 (revolutionary - i tried this one but there's too many notes to sight read and i can't do it)
there is also one called sunlight (meant for counterpoint training i guess? i'm not too sure if that's even a thing) but i forgot which number in the set of 12 it is ;-;
my favourite ones from op 25 (tbf i need to listen to more of them but here are the ones i like so far):
11 (i know this is so basic but i like a winter's wind, i wanted to learn it but there were too many notes and i got bored of sight-reading it),
the first one (aeolian harp? is that how u spell it? idk)
i think the butterfly étude is in this one as well (i like the staccato octaves)
12 (ocean - much like waterfall, this was the one where i got the most progress in but there were too many notes and it took too long to sight-read)
NOCTURNES!!
now i know that the one in e-flat major is VERY popular and that is very nice to listen to but imo
the one in b-flat minor is really nice, i like the polyrhythms at the beginning, it's typical for chopin to use those, it's really satisfying to figure out how to play them once you get the hang of it and tbh i like this one more than the e-flat major one because i think it's much more complex
nocturne in c-sharp minor is beautiful, i loooooooove the scalic runs at the end and the part where the key changes is really beautiful :3
these are all the ones i know, i need to listen to more but yeah :>
in terms of the polonaises, ive listened to two and learnt one:
i really like heroic polonaise, it's in a lovely key (a flat major) and goes through lots of modulations, i especially like the part where you get to e major and the left hand gets a huge workout with the staccato octaves! especially at the tempo the piece reaches, it's so nice to listen to! :3
i learnt the military polonaise! i love the grandeur and how there's lots of forte dynamics! i love the wide leaps as well, i think they're really cool and this is the piece that really instilled my love for triplets and military-like rhythms :D chopin was very nationalist when they were around
i also learnt the fantasie impromptu, the first part was nice enough (polyrhythms sucked at first and the sight-reading took way too long but it was cool to learn it), HOWEVER the bit in the middle where the key changes from c-sharp minor -> major, i was very disappointed by how repetitive the melody becomes, the coda (ending) is VERY satisfying!!
and finally, chopin's ballade no 1 in g minor is so PEAK! i'm waaaaay below the skill level required for this but honestly, idc because i love the way other people play it and i don't think i can match up to that, the coda is absolutely amazing, i am in awe ^w^
yeah, these are all the chopin pieces i've listened to!! rubenstein is an amazing pianist who has played these pieces and i have 3 yt piano channels i reccommend highly:
rosseau
traum piano
kassia
these three are so amazing, i love the way that they play these pieces :) i look up to them a lot <3
You have given me quite the extensive list to explore! I shall make sure to listen to these pieces and add the ones I enjoy to my playlist.
I especially appreciate how much detail you put into explaining your favorites and your experiences with learning them. It is always lovely to see someone speak so passionately about something they enjoy.
Thank you for taking the time to write all of this for me. I shall certainly have plenty of Chopin to listen to now. 🤍
I have been mostly journaling today. I have been really enjoying writing about my days this year. I was never particularly good at keeping up with diaries or calendars, especially when life became busy, but this year I have been doing a surprisingly good job at writing daily entries.
I have even promised myself that, if I manage to keep this habit going, I shall treat myself to a higher-quality calendar for next year.
I only need to be quick enough to get my hands on one when the time comes. Hopefully I shall succeed. 🤍

we can't sleep so we thought we'd drop an ask. i hope you have slept well yourself, we have just been kept awake by unnecessary thoughts and worries. nothing we can't manage.
anyways. the question itself. do you have any pets? if yes, what animal are they? if no, what animal would you have as a pet if you wanted one?
i apologise if this has been mentioned somewhere or asked before. have a nice day, your majesty.
-il dottore from @cryopeacock
Hello, my child.
I hope you have eventually managed to fall asleep despite the thoughts and worries keeping you awake. I am glad to hear that they are nothing you cannot manage, however. Please remember to take care of yourself and give yourself some rest when you can.
As for your question...
I used to have a pet. I had a cat, whom I loved dearly. Sadly, she passed away many years ago, when I was still a teenager.
I also had a few photographs of her, but unfortunately, they were stored on an old device that I no longer have. I failed to move them somewhere safe before I lost access to it, so I no longer have any photographs of her to keep.
I would love to have another pet someday, though. Perhaps another cat, although I may try my luck with a dog this time. Perhaps I might even end up with something completely different.
We shall see what life brings me.
Thank you for the lovely question, my child. I hope you have a peaceful day. 🤍
I am awake. I slept very well. It is quite late already, but that is alright. I do not have anything to attend to today, so I was able to take the opportunity to sleep a little longer.
I did experience some returning difficulties during my nightly routine, however. Some of my hallucinations unfortunately returned, although thankfully they were not nearly as severe as they can sometimes become.
They did not last for very long, and I was able to settle down and fall asleep rather quickly afterwards.
Even though I do not have any matters to attend to tomorrow, I would like to take the opportunity to rest a little longer. I may not make my good morning post as early as I did today and yesterday, so do not be surprised if I am a little quieter in the morning.
I do not know what I shall be doing tomorrow yet, but we shall see what the morning brings.
I cannot believe that there are almost 100 of you already.
It feels almost surreal to have reached such a milestone so quickly. I only started this account recently, and yet so many of you have already chosen to stay and accompany me on this little journey.
I am truly thankful for each and every one of you, my dear children. Your kindness, your messages, your asks, and even the little interactions we have throughout the day all mean more to me than you may realize.
Of course, I would like to do something special for all of you once we finally reach 100.
I am not quite sure what that should be, however.
So I would love to hear your suggestions, my dear children. What would you like me to do for our little milestone? 🤍
*congratulations! you have befriended a special kind of bean known as a sleepy bean! sleepy beans are a descendent of the sleepytinyangycutiebean and these beans are able to produce light to brighten the darkest of tunnels in exchange for a lovely companion!*
*this little bean has found a safe, loving, beautiful, kind home and shall shine brightly like shooting stars in the sky*
I have realized that for some of you, my dear children, school has already started.
Please remember to take care of yourselves. Do not allow the words or actions of other children to make you forget your own worth. You are worth far more than you may believe, and the opinions of others do not determine your value.
What matters most is your own well-being. Please remember to eat properly, drink enough water, rest when you need to, and take care of both your body and your mind. Do not push yourself beyond what you can handle simply because you feel that you must keep up with everyone else.
And for those of you whose school year has not yet begun, please keep these things in mind as well. There is no need to spend the last days of your freedom worrying about what is to come. Enjoy your time while you have it, and remember that you do not have to be perfect when the time comes to return.
School can be difficult. There may be exhausting days, unpleasant people, overwhelming amounts of work, and moments when you feel as though you cannot handle it anymore.
When those days come, please remember to be gentle with yourselves.
Ask for help when you need it. Take breaks when you can. Cry if you need to. Rest when you are tired. And do not be ashamed of struggling.
You do not have to endure everything alone.
I believe in all of you, my children. I know you can get through this.
Now go and take care of yourselves for me. I shall be very displeased if I find out that any of my children have been neglecting themselves. 🤍
Hello, your Majesty( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ ) I drew you!! I hope you like it૮₍ ´ ꒳ `₎ა
These drawings are absolutely beautiful, my child.
They have genuinely brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for taking the time to create these for me. Your art is truly wonderful, and I feel very honored to have been drawn by you.
I shall hang these pieces in the palace as soon as I am able to. They deserve a place where they can be admired properly. 🤍
