I have been thinking about one interesting thing lately.
I noticed it first during my secong DRV3 walkthrough, but with each rewatching I noticed it more and more.
Tsumugi throws shade at Kokichi SO often, it's insane. Almost from the very beginning of the game, she makes comments about how suspicious Ouma is, or how scary and dangerous he is. She jumps at pretty much every opportunity to point fingers at him and say how bad he is. Now, I wouldn't pay any attention to this if Tsumugi was an ordinary girl. It's much harder to find those who like Kokichi than those who dislike him. But the thing is... Tsumugi is not an ordinary student. She's a mastermind. She is not wary of Kokichi because she believes that he is a potential threat. She deliberately turns the group against him. She knows exactly what she's doing. Every time there is an opportunity to throw shade in his direction, Tsumugi is using it. And in cases where she is not the initiator of the idea, she is one of the first people to agree.
This is a very interesting detail that I have been thinking about for several months now. The more closely you look, the more you notice how often this happens.
I also have been thinking about how Shirogane is literally a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and Ouma, on the contrary, is a sheep in wolf’s clothing. Tsumugi looks and acts like a sheep: nervous, weak, defenseless. But at her core, she is a blood-hungry, ruthless wolf. At the same time, Ouma goes out of his way to be perceived as a wolf. He puts in a lot of effort to be considered scary, dangerous and evil. But in reality, he is just a sheep.
Admittedly, a very weird seep, that was even biting other sheep in order to convince everyone that he was a dangerous predator. But the only thing he has from a wolf is it's hide. Wearing it, however, is risky, because hunters can actually mistake the wearer of this skin for a wolf. Then there just will be one less sheep, and the wolf will remain unnoticed among the herd...
This is Coral! And her main part in the story is a side love interest as well as playing the part of a messenger at the beginning.
The border that isolates Mysticore from the rest of the realm has been around for years, decades, eons!
The only problem is that there is a river, the river mind, and for these eons it has been crashing into the border and slowly wearing away at the earth surrounding it, but also weakening the border itself.
When Jace first meets Coral she lets this secret slide:
“How…how did you get here?”
“It actually makes sense when you think about it!”
Just as water erodes earth and breaks down objects it does the same to the border until it can freely flow through, Jace and Flynn use this to their advantage to send each other gifts and letters, and Coral, being as nosey as she is, has no issues with delivering these gifts and messages.
This eventually leads to Flynn and Jace passing through the weak point of the border into each other’s homelands. But could this develop into a bigger problem? Water passing through is one thing, but other people?
Coral doesn’t think about this, none of them do really.
Flynn and Jace are too busy trying not to get caught and Coral is too busy ogling a very familiar phoenix whose name rhymes with ‘Basher’.
This is Michael! He’s Flynn’s cousin who lives in the east end of Detrix.
This is actually my first time drawing Michael and I think he came out looking pretty cool. Michael is actually diabetic and has a service animal called Marigold - named after his one and only true love: money.
When Michael was younger his parents went into a lot of debt with som shady people, and being an older brother he was very used to having to act like everything was fine for his little sister Casey, this led to him discovering he had an incredible poker face. He would spend day in day out at one of the casinos: counting cards and robbing people double his age of their life savings, as far as his parents were concerned, he had some sort of part time job and that’s where he was getting all this money from.
He continued to climb the ranks as he grew older, getting banned from certain casinos and taverns for winning a suspicious amount of times, but had gained enough money to get started on his own little casino, it was small and pretty crammed but it worked, give or take 7 years fly by and he has the most big, successful and busy casino’s in all of Detrix, enough to money to buy and sell someone’s bloodline and happily has the loan sharks his parents here one indebted to on a contact owing him an amount of money that would take generations to repay.
He can be a pretty chill guy around his family, but be careful around him! He can be very charming and persuasive, how do you think he got all this money?
This is Prince Jace Jacks of Mysticore!! He’s the another main Oc in ‘Beyond the Border’!!
He’s the second of two protagonists, and once again I have an older full body sketch of him too!!
As stated it’s older but shows off his outfit and hopefully conveys his royal status!! <3
Some aspects may look off or odd and that’s because when I originally designed Jace all his silver accents where gold, but I felt as though it made him look kinda funny and that the silver suits him much more!! Which did mean I had to change the hue and saturation of some parts of his clothing -3-
This is Flynn!! He’s one of my main Oc’s in a storyline called Beyond the Border!!
He’s one of two protagonists, and I have a full body sketch of him too!!
It’s not the best and it’s kinda old but you get the gist of his outfit!! He’s a freelance jeweller and his brand logo can be seen in his satchel!! <3
Also the reason his hair looks a lot flatter in the second picture is for
A) it’s older like I said my style has changed
B) his hair is styled half up half down!! In his original design his hair was split for the top half it be tied away in a braid but over time I slowly stopped drawing it that way, why? I don’t really know.
