This picture cleared my skin and added 15 years to my lifespan

for our last project of the semester in my metal-making class, we were required to make a necklace with fabricated jewels instead of traditional gems. I decided to go with newspaper for its malleability, variation in color, and the fact that I have tons of it lying around at home. while the piece definitely could use some work in terms of craftsmanship and the newspaper proved to be more difficult to work with than I originally assumed, I think the piece turned out pretty neat. to me it screams 'FASHION' in how abstract it is which I love. 🤗

when I decided to move to SF last year, I was pretty apprehensive about living with my mom. I'd been living on my own for 10 years so I wasn't sure how being at home again would work out. but since I've been here, my mom and I have gotten closer than we've ever been and I appreciate her so much more. she left for her yearly trip to taiwan last week and I'm surprised at how much I miss her. I loved getting this email from her today that includes an inexplicable abundance of "........" in the subject line and the quintessential chinese mom question of, "did you eat well?". ❤

couple of things: 1) if you have the privilege of voting and don't - bye. 2) language access matters. the fact that SF has ballots in not just english but also chinese, tagalog, and spanish and works to ensure that polling places have volunteers who can speak these languages is crucial. 3) don't sleep on aapi's. we matter. #election2016 #aapi
