ARTIST BIO:
Xeme is a Hong Kong based graffiti artist. He started writing graffiti in 2001 and since then his work is primarily dedicated to letters and patterns. Coming from a city where graffiti art barely existed, he is influenced by the small Asian graffiti community and international artists that pass through the area. Through his work, Xeme transforms Chinese calligraphy into a new art form and continues to develop a new flavor every time he paints.
-
ABOUT THE WORK:
I always like shapes and letters. The triangle gives a bit of a negative vibe in HK, because the shape is used in a various logos like aids, adult video, etc. Using triangle is a metaphor for people to think outside the box. One of the Chinese letters literally means "something" and the other character is Cantonese foul language. I’m playing around with words and lead people to re-think about the language, transforming a foul language into another meaning.

ARTIST BIO:
Drawing on our ever-changing social scene and diverse contemporary culture I use a fine blend of intelligent thinking, creative wizardry and some common sense to create images that reflect the modern world. I emphasize beauty, highlight predicaments and poke fun at humans and their strange habits. Abstract forms transcend through line and I delicately select compositions to create pieces that grace the streets, leave a distinct mark on found objects and decorate paper in a stylized way. Whether I draw, cut, stick or click, every piece starts in my head and is later fine-tuned using my box of tricks.
After studying Fine Art Sculpture and Illustration in the UK, I set off in search of inspiration and adventure. In my first year in Hong Kong I had an exhibition at ‘Above Second’ Gallery (HONG KONG) and started to create ‘Street Art’ as well as documenting all that I brushed past in the form of illustrations. I then took part in Secretwalls, Hkwalls and had two pieces of instillation works exhibited at Clocknflap music and art festival. During my time in Hong Kong as well as selling works to private owners I have done pieces for clients including…..Absolute Vodka, Kronenbourg 1664, Nice Pops, The Global Asian Dialogue, My Mum Music and Envirolution. A streak of blue dashed past my face, and then I managed to dodge a speeding ball of red before a lump of purple smacked me right between my eyes.

ARTIST BIO:
Barlo is an Italian painter and designer based in Hong Kong. He began his street art career at the age of 15, painting his first wall in an alley of his hometown. Growing up he kept exploring different creative approaches to his work, adding graphic design and digital media into the mix. At the age of 20 he left Italy and moved to the UK to further continue his studies, then proceeded to Hong Kong where he currently works as full time graphic designer.
Strongly influenced by surrealism and expressionism, his work focuses on mythological creatures, natural elements and a more generic feeling of nostalgia.
