Metallica - Screaming Suicide (Behind the video)
postcard from james hetfield to brian lew | 02/07/1984
"I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy! Hello Fellow Freaks! Having a fuckin' blast! I'm sitting on the Metallibus watching Richard Pryor on video (WOW). Styling bus, 8 bunks, bar, jacuzzi, sauna, and tennis court on roof! We're on our way to the gig in Nürnberg. We had to sleep over in Munich cause we couldnt find a hotel in Nurnberg because of some toy makers convention or some shit. The first gig in Zurich, Switzerfond was ok. but no soundcheck abaut 800 people. 2nd gig in Milano, Italy was great, about 1,500 crozy Italian Metallithrashers. Gigs are getting better, we're going down better than Venom. I think their show is good but their boring music shows through. We've got about 20 lights and that's all. Booze is great here. Sick dark beers! How about sending some new issues to Sweet Silence around February 20 when we start recording Ride The Lightning. We saw Accept at Hammersmith was good and Hellion at Marquee they suck. AARGH, James."
Okay I’ve really tried to not comment on James and his divorce from Fran because it’s none of my business. I won’t deny it saddened me but I’m sure there are valid reasons for it and this must be very painful for James, Fran and their kids.
But I am fed up of reading supposed rumours (mostly on IG) about James and a supposed “new girlfriend” and people speculating that this is the reason why he is divorcing Fran. Spreading rumours about Marcella posting stuff on the her TikTok account (I don’t use it so I’ve no idea) apparently trashing her Dad.
All this does is hurt the people involved. Have some respect and leave them alone. James is notoriously private, I highly doubt he is going to talk about this in great detail with fans.
Divorce is a hard and painful process anyway let alone when you are in the public eye and everyone voicing their opinion on why you are divorcing. Let’s just be respectful regardless of our own personal opinions.

Happy 59th Birthday to the awesome James Hetfield. I’m so glad you are still here with us, getting up on that stage and rocking our socks off each night. Thank you for being open about your struggles and your mental health recently, as someone who has struggled myself over the last year, i no longer felt alone. You are not alone. The whole Metallica family has your back.
Two of my favourite photos (2019 photo taken by myself at Twickenham, London - please do not steal).
Hey there. I’m backstage at Lollapalooza, about to meet Metallica. part 2 [part 1]

To my fellow other Metallica blogs who may be getting a bit...weird about Master of Puppets being in Stranger Things: don't gatekeep. We should welcome all the new fans that want to discover their music and appreciate it
“I know I’m not supposed to talk about suicide, but that’s what this song is about. And if you feel like suicide is an option, it’s not, because… because I love you. Because I love you.
And you are not alone.”
