Amata Apollo-Ames has a mother who loved her and a father she never knew , Paris was her home for a short amount of time . Her mother moving to Olympus taking her with her she married sergio ames and he adopted her as his daughter giving her the last name ames , there was always a sense of loathness for the man who gave her his name . they connected and she felt he cared for her but that all changed once her sister was born . she became sergios pride and joy and suddenly amata was just pushed to the side , ignored and forgotten by the man who once loved her . she used to tell herself repeatedly that he loved her but it wasn’t the same as having a child who was your own blood , than having someone else’s kid . 

as they both grew , amata had a distaste for Anastasia , they would be times where she would just be so mean to her but if anyone messed with her sister she would give them hell . there was a time where a higher alumni was messing with Anastasia and amata threatening the girl by saying ; " If you touch my sister again , I will slit your fucking throat while your parents watch " the disturbing behavior bothered Annalise and Sergio but they didn’t think much of it . there would be times when amata would just fly into these uncontrollable rages . Hating the man who called himself her father , only when it was convenient to him. her cousin and uncle were her refugee , they understood her in a way her own family didn’t . 

when she turned 18 , she decided that she was leaving to Paris , she didn’t want this life and didn’t need it . Sergio ignored her request and she left , only getting the blessing of her mother . after a few months being there she got into the  hierarchy of France . religion had always been her safe haven for some reason , meeting a few important names here and there she met a French diplomat and was married to him in less than a month and a couple years later , he had passed away due to a cold . on top of carrying the last name fortune , she was also carrying her late husbands fortune as well . 

life is good for her , getting a call from a family member always puts her in a downer . “Stassie got in An accident ” always the dramatics for her younger sister but nonetheless she takes her jet down to the small little town she ran away from . family is a fickle thing but for them it’s always and forever .

it was impossible not to smile in return when he saw hers, for a moment thinking of his family back in france and even the ones in new york who still spoke french to him more often than english. it was comforting and he let it settle for a moment before replying. “ce serait merveilleux,” he told her softly, slightly shy about his French even though he had never had an issue. But that was a diaspora/immigrant story for another day. “i mean if you have the time i certainly wont’ protest, i’ve been in desperate need of..changing my look.” he paused for a moment as he met her eyes. “have you ever..re-invented yourself?”

as soon as she hears him approve of her request she nods her head , the smile on her lips still there ❛ oh, c'est parfait. allez mon amour, nous allons vous faire paraître pimpant.❜ ( translation : oh, that is perfect. come on my love , let's get you looking dapper .  ) she walks back inside the store , placing her thumb , the lights dim down to the perfect light . lavender filling the air with the soothing aroma ❛ okay so I’m thinking some bottega veneta but I’m also thinking some chanel even some Christian Dior , what do you say mon ami ? ❜

She smiled brightly and shook her head. “I don’t mind at all. I always get too much food and then have leftovers,” she smirked, holding up the two hefty bags of food. 

“Thai heats back up pretty well as far as leftovers go.” She stood back up from leaning against the wall and began walking the rest of the way toward her apartment with the woman. “I’m Maggie by the way.”

amata wasn’t one to just go to someone’s random place , she could be a psycho for all she knew but then again , If she was going to die in between someone’s thighs , might as well be someone as pretty as the woman that was standing in front of her. 

she walks side by side , completely forgetting her car . then again , it was her parking spot . how bad of a ticket could she really get for an over night parking . she smiles as she hears the other name ❛ maggie , that’s pretty . ❜ she says looking at the raven haired beauty next to her ❛ I’m amata , amata apollo - ames . pleasure I’m sure . ❜ she teases her lightly , an exhale leaving her lips as she takes in the nice nola breeze .

Despite their differences, Stassie was grateful their parents still made them appreciate the meaning of family. At the end of the day, that’s all she had. She lets the cool, breezy air flow through her hair, inhaling as her sister drives quickly past people. As they entered her new venue, Stassie twirled in her place to see the masterpiece her sister had pulled off. She always did have a good eye. “It’s so beautiful here,” she said, smelling a bouquet of flowers placed on the front desk. “Facials,” she said, pointing to her healing scars with a disgusted look. “Or massages.”

❛  I tried to make it look like the one in paris but of course I don’t have my designer here , it’s a bit hard but I think it might even come out better . ❜ she says to her sister as she placed her purse in the safe . turning to look at her younger sister , she nodded in approval ❛ oh yes , you definitely need a facial . ❜ during her time with giuseppe , she had gotten her credentials to be an aesthetician . Waking to the back room where it was all in marble , the soothing aroma of lavender and the waterfall in the back , making soothing noises ❛ I think we should do a chemical peel first , just to get rid of all that nasty olympus air . ❜

Jeremiah grinned. “Let’s get this car checked out,” He said, grabbing his tool box and patting someone on the shoulder as he walked past, asking them to keep watch of the front desk as he moved toward the car in question. “Just an oil change right?” He asked, popping the hood as he opened the tool box he brought out. “It’s my job,” The mechanic said, waving away her thanks. Though he nearly fucking slammed his head against the raised hood of the car when she asked if he was married yet. “Uh…” Rubbing the back of his neck, Jer raised an eyebrow at her. “Uh, no. I’m not.” Turning back to grab the right instrument, he continued. “Dating though. Almost a pro at that, at this point.” Snorting a little bit, he nodded at her. “What about you? Anyone special?”

she knew that she was way out of her league , whatever she had with jeremiah was non - existent , he had moved on and now it was her turn . hearing how he wasn’t married caused a smile but then he mentioned dating and those same bright features dimmed down ❛ well, whoever she is , I am more than sure that she is a very lucky girl . ❜ jer was someone who she would have changed everything for but she messed that up a long time ago ❛ I was married ——- ❜ she stops , did she really want to continue ? what would she tell him ? that she killed her husband because he was abusive and controlling ? ❛  but he passed away a few months ago . ❜ her tone is cold and distant

“Yeah? How can you tell?” Ryder asked, slightly amused. He had no opinion on Paris, didn’t really know if he wanted to visit it or not - honestly travel wasn’t something he thought about a lot. We made a promise when we were kids. The man couldn’t help but wonder what that was like - having a family like that from the start. “I heard about Stassie’s accident, she’s doing better?” Ryder asked, drumming tattooed fingers against his glass. It took him a second to register that the new store front popping up in town that he drove by to get to work everyday was Amata’s. You cannot say no. “Well if I can’t say no…” He’ll bring Izzy or something, maybe Tessa if she wasn’t busy. “Congrats - opening a business is a big deal.”

amata was perfect at reading people and for instance , right now standing in front of ryder. this was the perfect example for it ❛ well because paris is a story , it has so much to tell and well , so do you . ❜ she tells him , smiling as she grabs the cup of tea in front of her ❛ much better , aiden already bought her a matching set of whatever hand bag she wanted , she’s happy again .  ❜ working on the muffin next to her ❛ you can’t say no actually and thank you , I’m really looking forward to it . ❜

“Whatever, somethin’ like that. Just take ‘em with you,” he negotiates. Seth can’t remember how they all worked together, he just knew they were blonde and there was an Ames on the end of their names. Seth isn’t a fan of Aiden no matter Amata’s association or not. “Stassie can stay, if she keeps herself on the fuckin’ road,” he half-jokes, knowing that he’d seen her afterward and she was fine. However, obviously, that wasn’t ideal. “I could see that workin’ too,” he mentions with a shrug. Seth is positive that that’s not bound to happen so playing with fire was what it was. “That why you’re back here or you just lookin’ after your sister now?”

❛ you really thing that I moved all the way to france because I wanted to eat fresh croissants? ❜ she asked him while she turned her head slightly ❛ the less ames , the better . ❜ she loved aiden and her sister and sandro but it was never a good combination when they were all together in the same place . ❛ yeah , it seems like olympus has gotten much bolder since I left . ❜ she knows that stassie’s accident was malice intent. ❛ making it happen , is better than imagining it . don’t you think ?  ❜ she asks him , her long manicured nail , runs through the stubble on his cheek but just as fast she pulls away asking for another drink . green eyes make their way back to him ❛ stassie is a big girl , she can look after herself , I just needed some time away from europe . ❜

𝑹𝑶𝑾𝑨𝑵     '     𝑻𝑯𝑨𝑵𝑬   .

Rowan tucks the other woman’s name into the back of her mind, making a note to remember it if the other blonde decides to continue coming to group. She accepts the extended hand, giving it a shake with a small smile. “Almost a year, I think,” she admits, thinking back on it momentarily. “I came to a couple years ago, when I was in my twenties – I wasn’t really ready for it then, though. But I’ve been comin’ consistently since last summer.” Mostly consistently, anyway. There are still nights when she’ll pull into the parking lot only to promptly turn around and leave because the idea of talking about all of the things she can’t and won’t have, the things she’s lost are suffocating. “The last couple years I’ve felt like everyone around me just thinks about havin’ a baby and the next thing I know they’re pregnant though. I think comin’ here made it a little less lonely, didn’t feel so much like I was the only one struggling.” Not that any of them here have the same story, the same diagnosis’s or struggles – but it had been lonely to feel like she was the only one. At least here there is a semblance of understanding between everyone. 

a year ? that seemed like a waste of time , does it even work ? she asked herself all these questions and didn’t even know if she would be around for a year in this town. ❛ well, it must be nice to have that type of commitment .  ❜ she couldn’t imagine seeing these people so regularly , she didn’t even like spending time with her family but this seem somehow more natural than family reunions. she listens to rowan speak and she gets each word that she is saying and her features become more genuine  ❛ it’s hard sometimes , my family isn’t that easy to keep happy . so every reunion or birthday I would get hounded on how I was getting old and why I hadn’t had a baby yet . ❜ she hated going and being hounded every second ❛ sometimes I think everyone’s right , maybe I’m not meant to be a mother , probably would be a bad one . ❜

The past few months since she had returned, she made sure her household was peaceful. An oasis away from the hell she had created. Ironic but she needed it for her mental health and sobriety. There was no room to slip up anymore. Lighting an incense in her studio, she pulled out her favorite and awarded pieces of art from the past decade of her work. Lining up all the canvasses and materials against the walls of her studio, she took a few steps back and smiled. She was proud of the work she had produced. She heard the noise of her door being opened, following the sound and putting her hand out. “Ava Winehouse,” she introduced herself, stopping herself from saying her married name. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m glad you reached out to me,” she told her. She was being honest, too. This could get her out of creative funk. “Are you looking for anything in particular for your business? Aiden told me a little bit about it.”

❛ pleasure is all mine , aiden is like a dog with a bone with you . ❜ she says towards the brunette standing in front of her ❛ yeah , I’m thinking something classic , I am a sucker for abstract pieces but also faceless ones . I don’t k or maybe you wanna go ahead and take a trip to the palace and see the vibe of it . ❜ she looks at her watche, ignoring the texts that were coming through ❛ I do know that I want some marble pieces , if not mutile at least one . ❜ amata was good with vibes , it was how she would tell what people were worth her time and which weren’t . ❛  so , what do you say ? ❜

’ why do you think something is alway going on ’ her question was like a broken record in his mind ; repeating over and over again . ❝ because you like to make everyone believe that you are , I am the king of faking it and I can see it mata. I know you’re not okay . what’s going on , you can tell me . just trust me , okay ? ❞ he tells her inching closer to her in the small proximity that they were in . ❝ why are you changing the subject ? ❞ a roll of grassy hues and he eventually gives in ❝ her name is ava and she’s a friend . ❞ he liked her , he thought she was a breath of fresh air ❝ did you see her work ? ❞

he was like a dog with a damn bone and he didn’t want to drop it , why didn’t he just drop it . ❛ my husband is dead —— I’m not okay but the world and money doesn’t stop spinning because amata needs a personal day , so no . I’m not okay and no , I don’t want to talk about it . ❜ of course the main reason why she was going insane wasn’t because her poor dead husband , it was because she was in fertile and there was nothing that he could do about it . ❛ ava , I like that .  ❜ though she never everything about the girl , the ames had extensive research resources and amata of course put them to good use ❛ yes , I did see her work . I’m thinking about asking for a few pieces , she has the same type of style I’m looking for the palace . ❜

she’s outside taking pictures of the store front , she needs a few pictures for the website . as she takes the shot , she feels a grasp on her leg and almost screams but when she looks down . she sees a pair of green eyes looking at her , scared looks turns into a more genuine one . ❛  hey little one , where is your mommy or daddy ? ❜ she picks him up and looks around , seeing a frightened man approach her ❛  i’m guessing this little one belongs to you ? ❜

“I don’t regret most things in my life. If I did, I wouldn’t be where I’m at now.” She leaned up against the storefront, looking up at the tall blonde and biting her lip. “Not really. I’m uh,” she looked down at her pajamas. Not the most glamorous outfit to be talking to such a gorgeous woman but she made it work for her. 

“I wanted Thai food so instead of ordering delivery, I figured I’d take a walk.” She smiled softly. “Glad I did. It was obviously a good idea.” She looked the woman up and down, not trying to hide the fact that she was checking her out. “I’ve seen you around. What’s your name again?”

❛ well , that’s one way to think . ❜ she asked , tilting her head to the side as she looked at the brunette in front of her . amata watches as she moves unsettled looking down at her own clothing . once the words leave her lips , she understands  ❛ well, i am pretty hungry . do you mind if i join you ? ❜

Shopping is a luxury that Remi hardly allows herself, largely because she hardly ever has the spare time, but also because she would rather spend her money on more practical things like basic living necessities that a nurses wage can only just afford. She didn’t even realize someone was stood close by until she bumps into them, and a flurry of apologies is about to stumble from her lips until she realises who it is. “ Amata! Oh my god! ” Remi exclaims excitedly, immediately wrapping the woman in a hug. “ I have no idea what you just said to me but what are you doing here? I didn’t even know you’d be in town! ”

amata embraces the woman before her ,  wrapping her arms arms around her . soothing her back and pulling away slightly ❛ oh mon cher ami ❜ ( translation :  oh my lovely friend . ) amata says as she holds remi’s hand ❛  believe me , seeing your face has made this day all for the better . ❜ she gives the other’s hand a light squeeze , letting it go ❛ well take it to aiden to call all of us down here , annie got into some sort of accident and well you know how dramatic he is.  ❜ she continues as she runs her hands through the gucci blazers ❛  i wasn’t suppose to be long but then i decided why not stay here for a while , my boutique is actually opening this saturday , you have to show up. ❜ she turns around completely looking at remi ❛ i was actually shopping for an outfit , would you like to help me and you have to get something for yourself too , oh my god , on me . ❜ she squeezes her hand slightly ❛ think of it as a congrats gift for your job , yeah ?  ❜

after being done getting the oil change , she’s walking out the door and slightly bumps into someone else . a brief stop she helps the woman pick up her belongings ❛ I’m sorry about that mon ami. you missing anything else ? ❜

Logan let out a soft laugh as he heard her voice, stepping further into the light so she could see him clearly. “I would argue bad things have no concept of time but you’re probably right. I can’t resist a night walk, not in this weather. I mean,” he paused and took a deep breath before looking around. He had taken to walking at all hours, if only because he could. No curfew. No parole office trying to terrorize his life. Just him and endless amounts of time. Well at least until his morning shift at the bakery. “You’re almost ready to open?” He looked over the building, having seen the bustle in and out over the past couple of months. “You know I barely remember my five years in France but I do think this is..quite amazing and though I’d try to flex my french, I’m afraid I’d embarrass myself. Do you think..you’ll carry anything in my size?”

she smiles as she hears him ❛ well , temptation is a tricky little bitch . ❜ she smirks while pacing the keys inside of her bag ❛ yes almost open . ❜ she says looking at him and then once she hears about his time in france, the happiest grin appears on her features ❛ oh mon dieu, mon amour. Bien sûr, on le fait ❜ ( translation : oh my god , my love . of course we do ) . when it came to fashion , it seemed that amata could talk about it for hours ❛ I certainly have nothing to do , so how about we take some measurements and see what we have for you , sounds good ? ❜

jeremiah knew almost no French. Being in New Orleans as much as he had, he’s picked up some words, but most of them were most likely not going to crop up in polite conversation. Raising an eyebrow as Amata said something that - based on the way she was shaking her head - was a rejection of his idea. Leveling the woman across the counter with a patient look, he grabbed her keys off the hook they were on. “Look around you, ‘Mata,” the mechanic said, waving a hand around the very empty waiting room. “We ain’t busy. Y’came for an oil change, we’ll get you an oil change.” Waving at the door, he grabbed his clipboard and pen and moved around the counter to follow her out. “While I’m out there you can tell me what you’ve been up to, and what brings you back here.”

she wants to reject the offer once more but he had that thing that always made her bend , the only man that seemed to be able to do that to her . looking around the room , a deep breath escapes her lips and she nodded her head ❛ fine . ❜ she says as she slips her hands in her burberry trench coat and follows him through the office leading back to where she had previously been ❛ thank you , for doing this . ❜ she didn’t what to say or what to not say , actually . ❛ so how have you been , married yet ? ❜ it was truly amata , saying too much as she always did .
