Shaking her head, Joey felt something in her chest tighten. Looking down, the flesh of her ankle accidentally scraped the sharp tip of a certain hanger as blood soon trickled down her skin.

“Crap.”

Mateo looked down at her ankle and bit his lip. “Well, I guess we’ll need to get you a band-aid,” he mentioned.

Crash looked down at the handcuffs still on his wrists “That would probably be helpful to our cause.”

Mateo chuckled while looking at them. “They’ll probably get them off soon. Well, depending on what they think you did.”

Evangeline turned back and ran to him, hugging him tightly. “Shut up.” She closed her eyes and held him there.

Mateo chuckled while hugging onto her and picking her up a little before putting her down and smirking.

Evangeline’s smile dropped as she looked and spoke monotonously. She sighed. “Oh well, guess we’re not friends anymore.” She turned her back and started to walk away.

Mateo placed a hand to his heart. “Wow, glad to know how much our friendship meant to you, Angel,” he pouted jokingly.

Mateo nodded slowly while looking at her outfit with a smile. “Yeah, seems like it does. Oh, would you mind me asking why you can’t be?”

Mateo chuckled and shook his head. “Stop, this isn’t even my native language, I don’t know, but it’s ten I think,” he joked.

“Pretty good, I mean, I’ve had better days,” he joked while motioning to the cheerleading uniform. “How about you?”

“Do you know what food they’re serving?” She asked. Thinking about the sight of the delicious treats made her stomach rumble.

“The restaurant? Right now, nope,” he replied with a chuckle.

Evangeline stopped laughing and smirked, a little impressed and taken aback. “Woah, look at that accent… Hm. Interesting.” She put a finger on her chin and tapped it lightly.

Mateo chuckled and shook his head. “You didn’t hear it before?” he replied with a raised brow, still keeping his accent thicker with a chuckle.
