Tiara Stats: Background
Have you ever wondered who has the most colourful Tiara collection? Or which family varies their choices the most? Well, now you don’t have to guess as I’ve decided to embrace the Maths part of my username and give you all the tiara stats you could want! A new statistic will be posted monthly for the next year so please keep an eye out.
These stats will focus on the 8 Royal Families of Europe who have regular tiara events: Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
121 tiaras have been included in these statistics. Tiaras have been excluded from the count for the following reasons:
It’s unknown whether they were transferred back to the main line following the death of their owner (one of Queen Fabiola’s tiaras, one of Princess Ragnhild’s tiaras, two of Princess Margaret’s tiaras)
The branch that owns the tiaras no longer attends tiara events (The Kents)
The tiara is owned by a Queen whose husband abdicated and hasn’t been worn by the main line since the abdication (Queen Paola’s tiaras, Queen Sofia’s tiaras)
The tiara was convertible but it has since changed hands or got remade and hasn’t been a tiara since (Norwegian Pearl and Emerald Bracelet Tiara, Luxembourg Art Deco Sapphire Necklace Tiara, British Cartier Bracelet Tiara)
The tiara is highly controversial so won’t be worn (Luxembourg Congo Necklace Tiara)
Let me know if you have any questions or requests, other than that, see you tomorrow for the first set of statistics!
