Loyalty. Honesty can be extremely overrated.

4. Have they ever had an inappropriate crush?

Yep. Brother’s best friend who was about 3 years older than her and an absolute mess. She still had a huge crush on him all throughout high school and if she saw him again it’s likely all those old feelings would come up again. To which Mats says: gross.

7. What is this character’s role in a horror movie?

The chick who doesn’t realize she’s got the “balls” she does until everything starts to go to shit and she gets a chainsaw (or other equally dangerous weapon) in her hands and goes totally apeshit on any and everyone who tries to fuck with her and her friends. Loses it before the end of the movie and either dies because of it or is that person they flash forward to being in a mental institution.

5. Describe 5 unusual characteristics your character has.

 - Mats doesn’t throw out a shirt just because it has a hole in it. In fact, she’ll just cut it up into pieces to use for another outfit or change the cut altogether. While the girl definitely enjoys her shopping sprees, most of her wardrobe is recycled.

- Despite her late nights and hate for breakfast (outside of coffee), Matson has no problem getting up early -- just don’t try actually holding a conversation with her until she’s gotten the first cup of coffee in her system.

- Sometimes she forgets to light her smoke, and will be sitting there with an unlit smoke, yet still making the motions as if it were. This usually happens when she’s in the midst of music making.

- Can’t stand wearing socks or shoes. While she has a healthy love for boots of all varieties, the moment she gets the opportunity to take them off, she does. 

- Says she hates popcorn and chocolate, but has been seen eating caramel popcorn and chocolate ice cream on multiple occasions. She’ll tell you to blame the pot.

11. Three things they’d bring with them to an isolated cabin in the woods (because islands are overrated):

Her favorite Zippo, given to her by her brother, her cello, and a pot plant.

14. What is the first impression most people are likely to get from them?

She gives off an “artist” vibe, always caught up in some random idea she’s gotten in her head, whether it’s a new song, graffiti, or some killer party plan that she can’t wait to set into motion. She’s hard to pin down unless you know what keeps her interested, and if you don’t, she’s likely to come off as detached and flighty. She’s also a shameless flirt -- if you’re pretty, she’s peekin’.

Her family, outside of her brother Luke. She’s never had a good relationship with her parents, one of which who peaced out before she could even really form a memory of her, and another who drank himself into oblivion and treated her like a piece of garbage. Matson doesn’t like to think of the future much, and every time she hears a question that begins with “where do you see yourself in…” she tunes out before she can even begin to think about a possible future scenario. Instead, she’s planning where she sees herself that night, and how soon she can get the hell out of this conversation and off to where the fun is.

Mats is a fearless drunk; ready to jump into anything and everything without hesitation. She’s generally up for anything while sober, but it’s during her drunken nights where she actually might wake up and realize she’s gone over her own line… which is pretty hard to go over. While she’s not as bad as she was when she was younger, she’s still a total party girl, sometimes to the point of recklessness – down for anything and willing to try it all at least once.
