Kat: I need to know why I thought the name Aldous Husky was a good one for u
Peter: I honestly don't know...
Peter: The only thing I do know is that I was waaaaay more drunk than I thought I was last night
Arnie: idk i was relly drunk and i guess i thought it was funny
Arnie: who are you though?
Peter: this is peter.
Peter: who are you?
Jameson: could it be the raven tattoo
Jameson: or is it because i look like i dismembered a body and hid it in the floor
Peter: oh shit, Jameson?
Peter: tbh your guess is as good as mine.
Peter: but it's probably the dead body one.
Andy Walters by Fanny Latour-Lambert
Peter: So I have a question for you. I'm not sure who this but I'm guessing I somehow got your number during the very drunken Mardi Gras celebration last night.
Peter: So my question is; Any idea why your number would be saved in my phone under the name Edgar Allen Bro.
They mustered a cordial smile despite the pang of annoyance from being reminded where they just came from. After all, they were an actor; fake it âtil you make it and all that jazz. Lennox crossed their arms, still standing their ground alongside an attempt at kindness. âIâm not being an ass about it, I just donât have the time to play guessing games. Can you please try to fix it?âÂ
Turning away from Lennox, Peter rolled his eyes. He had no idea what their problem was with him, but it was terribly obvious Peter had done something to piss him off. âYes, I can try to fix it,â he exhaled, too tired after a morning of driving Babcia around and an afternoon of rehearsal to care about their bad attitude. He flipped the microwave upside down, setting his bag beside the machine on the counter. Pulling out a few tools, he started to unscrew the back of the machine. "Did it just stop working or did you do something that broke it?"Â
âShouldâve known when they said theyâd do it for a few bucks and a beer.â Jameson grabbed onto the kitchen counter and pushed himself onto it before crossing his arms over his chest. âHow much dâyou think itâs going to cost? We can probably scrounge up some money but Iâm paying a shit ton for classes.â
âForget about it, man. Arnie brought Babcia to her appointment at the clinic last week. I owe him.â Peter opened the cabinet beneath the sink before dropping his bag next to the opening. "Iâm gonna need a bucket." Â Â
âI know itâs definitely broken. I figured that out on my own when it stopped playing my vinyls.â Renataâs voice came out more agitated than she would have liked it to but itâd cost her three days working at the coffee shop. âIsnât there something you can do? Take it apart or wave a wand, do a little dance, tap your heels three times? Anything?â
Peter fought the urge to roll his eyes. âYou would be surprised how many calls I get to fix things that arenât broken,â the handyman mumbled. He could barely keep track of the amount of people who asked him over to just to take a look at something, and then decided to get pissy with him when he proclaimed it was broken. Â âWaving a wand wonât do you much good.â Peter said calmly, his relaxed demeanor seeping into his tone, âI can take a look at it and see if its a basic problem, but I donât have a lot of experience with these things.â He knelt down next to his tool bag, grabbing a screw driver. âI have a friend who works at a music shop not too far away, I can give you his number if I canât fix it.â
âSo you can fix it?â Riley asked hopefully, biting his bottom lip and rubbing his eyes. It had been a shitty day at work and he hated being so emotional in front of people, but all he could think of was more days like this minus his coffee, and that was tear worthy. âYeah, um. Sorry. Itâs been.. A long day.â He peered around Peter, trying to see what he saw in the back of the broken machine, but all he saw was mess. âHow long do you think I have before Iâll have to get a new one?â
âI can try,â Peter said thoughtfully as he continued to tinker with the machine. âIt wonât be properly fixed but it should keep running. Donât uh, donât move it around to much. You donât want to shake anything loose.â  Peter closed the back of the machine, replacing the screws he had previously taken out. âIf nothing I messed wit falls outs or melts, Iâd say you still have a few months out of this thing.â The late afternoon sun was beginning to fade, and Peter was glad this was his last job of the day. He leaned against the counter, crossing his arms as he took in the guys run down posture. âRough day at work?âÂ
@katzecradle: @peter_koch he says he approves of our union
@peter_koch:@katzecradle you are making me worried kat
âDamn,â Ethan grumbled, frowning down at his bicycle, which lay limp and lifeless on the sidewalk. He only had a few minutes before the lunch rush at Un Coin de Coffee would start, and the thought of not being there for it was giving Ethan some mild anxiety. Even though his employees were plenty capable (and there werenât nearly enough customers for the moderate spike in numbers around noon to qualify as a ârushâ), he was genuinely concerned about missing a couple of his favorite customers. âCan it be fixed?â
âI donât know man, bikes arenât my specialty.â Peter felt bad for the guy, he looked really stressed out about the situation. However the thing looked like it wasnât going anywhere anytime soon. Â âThe car really did a number on it. I know a guy who owns a shop that you can take it to, but it might be easier to just get a new one.â
That brought a little smile to Lukeâs face. A silver lining to the situation, if you will. âDamn, really? Thanks man. Iâll have to buy you lunch sometime or something for dragging your ass over here. And I didnât even clean,â he added, glancing around at the messy kitchen.Â
âDonât sweat it, Luke.â Peter shrugged, giving the boy a grin at his offering of lunch, âIâll hold you to that. I canât turn down free food.â He glanced around the apartment, âOh donât worry about it, you should see some of the shit holes I have had to go to because of this job.â
