s/o has a pretty skinny body, and Matsuno discovers why. He was at s/o's place to pick then up; his curiosity leaded him to the kitchen, he founds out that they have only a few ramen boxes in the refrigerator. And nothing else!! Seemed like they're run out of money and they have trying to save money in food ( they would say it when he demands an explanation) Knowing this, what would Matsuno do?
This is gonna be self-indulgent af since I’m livin that college life lol
It takes him a minute to process all this since he has always had a hot plate of food waiting for him at home courtesy of his mother and can’t even imagine living like that
He tells you it’s not okay to have that kind of diet, but will cut off this topic before it turns into an argument came to pick you up, not fight
He’ll take you on frequent trips to Chibita’s since it’s great food that practically free
Since he also has a history with that Chinese food shop I’d imagine he’d get a small discount and picks up and drops off some food for you from there as well
Even after ep 24 he’s still going to do grocery store runs for his mom and will try to pick up she budgets everything, she notices right away since he normally takes the money and list and leaves and will pry which her son has no qualms opening up about. The second she hears what’s going on she snatches the list and money and prepares some food for Oso to bring over to you
Nope. That’s not gonna fly, he can’t let his karamatsu cutie live like that!
He’s going to go on the biggest spiel about the importance of the food pyramid, fruits and veggies, and nutrients. Even if you tell him your taking vitamins to make up for the lack of food intake he’s still not going to stop.
You’ll have to remind him you two had planned on going somewhere and he’ll stop…temporarily
He takes it upon himself to make little meals for you, even on days he normally can’t see you. He’ll stick to foods he knows how to cook well so he doesn’t burn it. He’ll even make little bentos with sticky note messages gushing about how much he loves and misses you. He’ll drop them off at your work or apartment assuming he has the key
They aren’t the most… aesthetically pleasing bentos but he puts so much effort into them and the foods good so it’s hard to refuse. Plus, as he puts it, “every little bite is full of love~”
He just sighs, he’s upset you’re not eating right but he knows it’s a tricky situation. He would briefly dwell on the importance of healthy food and ask if you’re at least taking vitamins to make for the lack of food
He gets a bad rep for being a downer around his brothers and doesn’t want you to see him in the same light so he won’t dwell on the topic for too long and take you to wherever you two had planned on going that day
On his way back home, he’ll pick up some cookbooks for beginners and shadow his mother when she cooks dinner so he doesn’t end up burning food again
It’s not the best tasting the beginning nd sometimes parts of it are a little seared but over time he does get better at it, he’ll also schedule a lot more dinner dates so he can make sure your eating something other than ramen
He’ll stop spending money on idol and otaku merch for a while so he can help out and buy groceries for you too!
He indulges on a lot of junk food and knows he’s fortunate to have a mother to still cook for him even at his age so he’s not going to say anything and just go on with your date. However, that doesn’t mean he won’t stop thinking about it
You know how the boys have snacks hidden throughout the house from each other? Well, when the others are sleeping he’s gonna try to find some of their stashes and give them to you. Also, if mama matsu makes a lot of left overs he’ll take some to you as well
He wouldn’t be too confident cooking something for you so if he passes a convenience store or fruit stand on his way to see you he’ll pick something up for the two of you to eat together
Since he briefly worked for Chibita he’d be able to nab some oden for free for you as well
If he notices you acting fatigued or on the verge of fainting then he’s going to intervene and speak up telling you that changes need to me made. He will try to help you to the best of his ability to get you budgeting on more healthier food
He’s saddened by it, he doesn’t want you living like that. Your health is super important to him
When you’re out he’ll replace most of the ramen boxes with healthier food substitutes (ones you’re not picky about or allergic to of course~)
He’s going to go a step further and have you exercise with him as well, ramen is full of preservatives and sodium, you gotta work at that off!
It won’t be excruciating, he knows he has more strength and stamina than the average person so he’ll try to make it as fun or possible including all kinds of fun games for the two of you to play as well
Going grocery shopping together becomes a ritual between you two, he likes to think of himself your own personal trainer and nutritionist
He knows you’re an adult and you’re allowed to make your own decisions but he doesn’t agree with your diet at all but will keep quiet about it
He’ll ask Sachi and Aida to sneak him any of the left-over snacks and fruit from work instead of throwing it away and give it you to instead
Like Kara I think he would take up bento making for you and would get super into it! His are actually really good tasting and aesthetically pleasing. He makes a separate insta for food posts
Cooking also lets him get closer with his mom, she expressed how she felt distant from Totty and cooking and talking with one another will re-strengthen their bond and become a typical thing for them
Turns into a total food snob and creates a ton of dinner dates where you two dine at restaurants so you can shade their cooking together and always tries to treat you to the meal
