"Oh, I'm thinking about some 2 A.M. post break-up potato chips, sour cream, and onion pizza monstrosities right now." One of Delilah's eyebrows lifted as the memory of that taste flooded back. She turned to him at his offer, smiling softly at the kindness. "Thanks, Mr. A. Here's the deal though, I'll only allow it if you step a touch out of the comfort zone and try something new. Not pineapple on pizza because ew, never. Just something a little offbeat."

With his eyes playfully narrowed, Matt laughed at Dilly's comment. "Monstrosities indeed," he responded, head tilting to the left a moment. "Definitely not going down that road today. No way, no how." At her proposal, however, he left a breath go heavily and slowly, reaching out for a menu. "You've made that difficult. Something different. No pineapple. Awful." He chuckled softly. "What're we counting as offbeat today? Are mushrooms and bacon enough? Or do I have to go further?"

Ben was glancing over the menu trying to decide if he was going with something familiar or trying something new. His gaze looked up when Matt spoke, making a face. "Honestly, I'm thinking I shouldn't have smoked before coming... Cause it has made my choice much harder. Every pie is sounding so good right now." Ben laughed softly, shaking his head a bit. "Oh, man, you don't have to do that. I can get mine." Ben tried to protest, still not used to his friends wanting to treat him sometime. "Hey, I was thinking something similar." He muttered, moving his eyes back to the menu. "We could get two smalls of something and split them. I, for one, am definitely getting a margarita either way."

Matt pondered what Ben had suggested. It seemed like a pretty good idea, actually. Maybe one margarita and one that was slightly more adventurous, best of both worlds for both of them, then. "You have to think over these choices before you make them," he teased the other very lightly, before turning his attention back to the pizza and the matter of lunch. "Sounds like a plan, my friend," he commented. "So one small margarita to start, and one small... what's tempting you? Veggie's? Could go overboard with a meat feast or something?"

"That's generous!" Sylvia's tone was somewhat teasing, not expecting the offer to cover her order. "Umm... I think I'm just going with my usual. Some pepperoni, pineapple, jalapeño slices and a diet coke," she shrugged.

Matthew chucked and nodded. "Glad you said pineapple," he commented with a smile. "Gives me permission to do the same." He knew a lot of people hated it, but had they honestly, truly given it a chance? He usually chose to ignore them, altough sometimes the judgements and comments got a little boring, so he just avoided it depending on who he was with. "That sounds real good." Another nod. "Gotta be lemonade for me. Pepperoni and pineapple for sure. Might spice it up with some hot honey today, then."

"If I would have known you were buying, I might have splurged and suggested Evolution, or maybe Sandcastles," Josh said with a good natured laugh, looking across the table at Matthew. "But I know what you mean. I always feel like I should be adventurous and get something exciting, and then end up with a cheese pizza and it tastes like the most incredible I've ever put in my mouth. But..." he trailed off, scanning the menu again, "a margherita pizza does sound pretty good. Maybe add in a little cupping pepperoni to jazz it up?"

"You could have done that, but who's to say I would actually agree?" commented Matthew with a slight raise of his brow, a smile dancing about his features. It could have gone either way really, but he had been in the mood for pizza, which was how they'd found their way there. "I need to add something. They'll be calling me boring again... and I can't have that. Maybe a few mushrooms. Some ham?" he pondered.

"What're you thinking?" questioned Matt as he perused the menu himself. "Whatever you want, it's on me... Anything at all." He was feeling particularly generous today, especially considering it was all for a good cause, too. "Not sure if I'm feeling up for something new or just to go really boring with a margarita," he said with a chuckle.

ఇ "Alright, you got me. Where we headed?" Marci puts her wide-brimmed hat on and her sunglasses before she pauses at the street's corner. She has out the pamphlet where all the town specials are in one pretty paper. She may or may not have made it herself to keep track of the specials. "I got one hour to kill and a hunger that can't be tamed. I'm kinda feelin one of those Paws lattes for sure. But you get to pick the food." Marci tends to take charge of ... literally everything and this is their attempt at not doing that for once!

"An hour? What is this? A whirlwind tour of town?" Matt's brows lifted as he asked the question. "You can't appreciate anything in an hour..." Especially not more than one location. It just wasn't going to happen. "You want a latte? We'll get a latte. We can get a snack from there, too."

Nick wasn’t too sure what he’d been thinking when he agreed to help chaperone 6 ten-and-eleven-year-olds on what was advertised as a ‘fun beach get-together’ for all the kids, but that day had come. Fortunately, two other parents within the group who were helping out, although they happened to be mothers who were lifelong close friends, and as a result, Nick felt incredibly awkward. Was there some sort of unspoken rule in society where parents had to befriend one another if their kids were friends? It was one of those moments that made them reflect on how it was when they initially moved to Merrock with Parker seven years ago, and how everyone seemed to know each other. Fortunately, the town ended up being very welcoming, but this was a whole other thing entirely. At least the other kids were nice to his kids, that’s all he needed.

Regardless, though, they made sure to place their belongings a few feet away from the other two, and silently regretted coming to the beach in the first place. It didn’t help that it was rather crowded, either, though he did manage to find enough space to put down his beach chairs and bag. Perhaps this was fine. Their kids could have fun with their friends and they could (hopefully) tan. He watched as his kids hurried towards the water after they applied sunscreen (much to their frustration, but it was far better to be safe than sorry), and moved to sit on one of the chairs.

At the sound of someone approaching on their right, they looked over, nodding once in acknowledgement before smiling slightly. “Were you also roped into chaperoning a massive multi-family get-together? Or…hell, do they still call them playdates in middle school? Is that embarrassing now?” he glanced towards his kids to ensure they were safe before turning back to the person. “Hopefully you have a far better reason to be here than I do. I mean, I’m glad my kids are socializing, but I just feel out of place.”

"Just walking the dog before afternoon check-in..." was Matt's easy response. It was the beach closest to the B&B, so he'd often nip down there, skirting the very top of the beach and generally staying out of everyone else's way. It had been a long time since he'd been down there with his own son, although he supposed it was only a matter of time before he was playing grandpa and spending long hours there all over again. "Been a good few years since I've been here with the family, although I do sometimes get put on uncle duties," he added with a chuckle. "Gonna be a long day for you? Or has it already been?" he questioned, pausing for a moment as he let Rocket sniff around and investigate the place.
