okay, so we need to have a quick talk ! if you don’t know who i am, it’s jack aka @theojamcs along with another bunch of neat-o urls. don’t run away just yet, because we’re going to have a nice little conversation about fact checking & not jumping the bandwagon.
for quite some time now, people have blocked me left in right in the rpc ( mostly based on this nice post ) and i can’t really blame them ! however, i think it’s kind of important to know the full story, so shall we ?
i did own sextaperp ! and at the time, it seemed a good idea. i went to hell & back trying to defend this roleplay – two years ago. now, that doesn’t really hold any value – does it ? ‘ oh, i did a bad thing. but it’s been YEARS, get over it ! ’ and that’s not what i’m trying to convey, here – at all. what i am saying that it was two years ago, and two years ago i APOLOGISED. i posted quite the statement about it, though thanks to the bazillion of posts on my old blog… i can’t find it. take my word for it ? or better yet, accept this brand new apology – fresh off the printers !
sextaperp was a hot flaming mess. i do not think it was a good idea, nor that the plot was very well thought out. it could’ve been handled more delicately, should it have been handled at all. it started out as a fairly innocent concept, though over the years – the plot changed. what i used to consider an original plot turned into something more resembling a revenge porn case. i am not proud of having created said roleplay, though i am proud of having gotten the experience to learn & grow from it.
point is, i did apologise. and though you don’t OWE to believe shit i say, i do believe that if you’re going to hold something against me – all facts should be put on the table. now ! i did say something ableist about a year ago. i didn’t mean any harm by it, and i shouldn’t have used the example that i did. you can find the original post here. i replied to PLENTY of anons regarding the subject & i defended/explained myself NUMEROUS of times. just search various variations such as autistic, autism – etc.
what i MEANT, to clarify for a final time, is that i hate being reduced to being autistic. i am more than autistic, all autistic people are NOT alike – and i, in general, have a severe dislike for being stereotyped and grouped with other people. the spectrum is HUGE and just because someone is autistic, does not mean i’ll automatically get along with them. i’ll admit, that at the time, i did deal with some internalised ableism but that has nothing to do with what i wrote. i truly do believe in being an individual. i am, however, sorry for the way that i came off– i could’ve handled it SO MUCH BETTER, and rephrased it. but it’d blown way out of proportion by the time i tried, and well… my apologises kind of went unnoticed.
i have asked the roleplay community numerous times why they consider me problematic aside from those instances, and i have yet to receive a response. but anyways, i love the community and providing resources for it. so, you can imagine that when someone creates a wave of people blocking & refusing to reblog your resources – it’s hard to see a point in helping. the reason i made this post is NOT because i crave validation or my resources back on people’s blogs. it’s ACTUALLY because it’s very tiresome to attempt to reblog others gif hunts etc. only to be denied the right of doing so. i want to support my fellow gif makers and it makes me pretty bummed to find out most people listen to one person’s side of things & make assumptions from there.
