Photos from Pioneer Works, (www.pioneerworks.org). I will be working with artists, and Nanotronics Imaging scientists on new inventions and discoveries from this great space in Red Hook.
A look at the problems with, and the hope for smaller declining cities. Especially for the one that my company is in. Akron, Oh..
Eclecticism may not be the best route to a Nobel prize, but Matthew Putman is a genius with accomplishments in business, nanotech, music, poetry and film.
New "Definition of Insanity" Review
There are still new reviews coming out. Here is one. You can order a DVD, or OnDemandhttp://www.filmmonthly.com/video_and_dvd/the_definition_of_insanity.html
Attica’s Gate
The opaque cloud of christian torture
Floats past an evanescent pool
Of sea
Where Poseidon still rises from his amphibian solstice
To spray us with adventurous torrents of spring.
The rain salted with Sahara sand
Falls on a parliament where guards
Change little twice each day.
Men wake from a Euro paradise
To again succumb to the tyranny of empire.
Goldman and Greece mix poorly.
Purpose is lost in overgrown gardens
On the slope of antiquity temples.
Our Ancient Future
The Smile on the Cycladic stone woman has vanished
After 3000 years of perpetual tempest.
Her face smoothed in pure abstraction
Pre-geometric, post –modern
She waits to be claimed by an Upper East Side Museum.
When wars and walls tumble markets with margins of error,
Waves of intersecting lines hold humanity up
For her next dark age.
Home Theatre
17,000 assembled at the theatre of Dionysus
Where mass speculation of personal condemnation
Educated the planets first democracy on the sea.
Sitting back on my bed watching “Lost”
Wondering if this solitary world connecting event
Is not the title of the displacement in our
Republic of filibuster championships
And high jacked hopes for new bills for legislation
While new bills for resignation into the world order of
Freedom frees us wealthy polluters,
And like Media Murder our families
Only now in generations to come
And watch the amphitheatre fill until
We are suffocated in the quest for tragedy.
Post Commentary Art
Now we are locked in culture
Not pop as of the baby boom.
Now Damien Hirst declares nature in art irrelevant
As he splatters pigment over dying
Winged monarchs of the North American kingdom.
Now Kilimanjaro fish tumble down
New streams on melted mountain peaks
While perspective reappears on billion dollar gallery walls.
Now shopped photos in tint unrecognized
By receptors of ancient 20th century modernists.
Normalcy returns as a perversion
The post partum depression of empty humanity.
