We just finished editing together Issue 8! The new issue is (somehow) even longer then every issue that preceded it, with over 160 pages. This issue has been one of the most rewarding issues to work on, and I’m so incredibly excited about the people I’ve been able to meet through making it. Issue 8 includes some of the absolute best submissions we’ve received over the past three years making the magazine, and I’m really honored to have so many of these artists’ work in the magazine.
GO READ IT ONLINE HERE!
Issue 8: SINCERE includes submissions by Lauren Martin, Suzanne Brown, Colleen Tighe, Brie Moreno, Maria Torres, Kos Queer, Meghan Farbridge, and John Erbach. This issue also includes interviews with Nick Corbo of LVL UP and Crying, illustrator and zine maker, Tallulah Fontaine, Matt Van Asselt of Mt. Home Arts, and Jonathan Marty of Glueboy. This issue also features the FORGE. Spring Review, documenting several concerts and events taking place in New York during spring 2015.
I was interviewed in the new issue of Forge Art Mag! Check it out here!

All good printers designate at least one "cat proof" from every edition
NOW SPINNING:
a test press of the new adult mom rec! It’s so good! I did the art! it’s over there.
This limited edition, 6 color screen print I made in collaboration with MT Home Arts is now available at my etsy shop. Just google “Theo Ellsworth Etsy” and you’ll find it. I had a lot of fun drawing all the layers for this.
I have to make room in my flat files! maybe we can play a game: paypal me $25 and I will send you more than $25 worth of posters/prints or paypal me $125 and I will send you at least one old big "fine art print" and other things. sounds like a fun game? woooo! [email protected]

DWIF DWEST Visual Visionary of the Week #2: Matthew Van Asselt
.
Based out of Brooklyn but most at home where mountain forests meet the sea, Matthew Van Asselt (DWIF DWEST class of 1997) is a wayward soul. A true expert in nearly all of the experiential sciences, his attention goes most fully towards the visual and musical arts. Van Asselt runs the the pioneering cassette and print label Mt Home Arts and creates music under the name Real Life Buildings. His brain is filled with dense layer after layer of urban schematics. He is an expert cat spotter.
His favorite spice is coriander. He is deeply afraid of east-facing moths. He has never been to Portugal. His favorite planet is Mercury. He is the wind rustling through our hearts.
Matthew Van Asselt’s work will be on display the entire month of April as part of the DWIF DWEST gallery of artists Dan Weiss has been in a car with at Wolfman’s Books. Featured above: “Pyramid Scheme″
And here’s another new thing we’re really excited out! Our first print with Theo Ellsworth! More info on our site, grab it now for a special price in honor of RIPEXPO this weekend!
Taken at Mallory's show with Thelma, Real Life Buildings, and Told Slant at the Stood at SUNY Purchase last week.
things going on!
There are some things going on! A lot of them, kind of.
This weekend Real Life Buildings will be playing a handful of shows:
Purchase // Brooklyn // Kingston // Bard
It's gonna be cool! We've been working hard on playing songs well and also making some merchandise! We'll have shirts, plus a secret things I will be finishing tonight hopefully... pics and leftovers for sale when I get a chance / after the shows!
Also about to wrap up some artwork for Adult Mom.. is that still a secret? They're playing with us on Friday at the Silent Barn, too. Plus that Hotelier poster.. I gotta print that. plus some other things. more on those later, maybe.
