Just took a listen to the masters of the @annabelohio LP for the first time. I could not be more thrilled. Produced by @intoitoverit and engineered by yours truly. Watch out for it this year! So proud of what we made together.
Nothing like approving test presses in the morning. So excited for this one. (at Chicago, Illinois)
Cutting teeth. @plexihorse is too good at bass.

After a quiet 2013, Chicago, IL’s Cut Teeth will dust off their gritty, hook-laden indie-punk playbook and begin recording their full-length follow up to 2012’s Televandalism EP. The band will record with Pete Grossman at Bricktop Studios on January 18 where...
I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS.

So psyched on unemployment and new lifted bells right now.
So incredibly proud of my @youblewit dudes. They are killing it right now and I'm so thankful they let me work on their new record. I really really love what we made. Comes out Tuesday! This is exactly what I needed today. When one door closes it turns out another one was open the whole time.
Life is such a trip sometimes.
Orlando emo act You Blew It! take their own advice on second full-length record, Keep Doing What You're Doing.
Tanner said some really awesome things about the recording process of the new youblewitfl LP w/ intoitoverit on mtv!

Recorded this! Very proud. You can check the track out in the "Recent Sample" section of my page.
Recorded and mixed 4 songs in 3 days with these guys. Mastered by Will Yip. Fun rock songs from Detroit, MI. Features members of Make Do & Mend, Fireworks, and one of the slicker drummers I've recorded. Word.
Kittyhawk LP drums sounding giant. (at Atlas Studio)
Dowsing might have been doomed to the lower depths of the annals chronicling modern Midwestern emo revival based on their ultra-scrappy demos...
Very cool review of the Dowsing record on AP.
Why you should care about Dowsing's "I Don't Even Care Anymore"
For me, there are only ever two ways to initially approach an album: lyrically or rhythmically. It’s rare that on first listen I ever really catch onto the “whole package” of a record, but it is something I can (and do) often come around to with my favorite albums – and this more well-rounded understanding tends to be what sets those records apart from the pack for me. I toss around a lot of first listen, like “Oh yeah, it was great! Super 90s rock vibe” or “What an [adjective]-ly happy/angry/depressing album” statements. With that being said, my assessment is usually pretty surface and based mostly upon the one element of the album that struck me hardest.
With this site, however, I’m trying my hardest to put more care into how I cast opinions into the endless pissing contest that the Internet can tend to be about music. I’m trying to listen closer and more often and more inquisitively than I ever have before. I care about music. I know we all do, but I just want to have some sort of something to back up that idea.
And with all that being said, Dowsing’s I Don’t Even Care Anymore is an album I just get, but also one that I easily could and would have singularly analyzed/judged/etc. before this year. Sure, the band unquestionably plays pretty standard “feel good sad jams,” as per their Facebook description, and is just as unquestionably straightforward lyrically, but if there was a good time in my life to hear this record, it would be now, while I’m in the midst of not a romantic break-up, but rather more of an “Oh shit! I’m an adult now. I’d better ‘break-up’ with kid in me” type of unnecessary angst.
