Photo and Quote are by me. This was taken on one of the islands of Portugal. As for the quote, I said this while discussing my world view through a romantic naturalistic lens.
View of Mount Adams in Goat Rock Wilderness, WA. One of the most beautiful trails I've ever backpacked through.
Backpacking with my best friend for my bachelor party in Goat Rocks Wilderness, WA. The mountain behind us is Mount Adams. Truly one of the most beautiful and serene places I've ever seen.
My Best Friend Representing Buc-ee's at Mount Rainier National Park.
Among the Flowers of Washington State, Goat Rock Wilderness, USA. Summer of 2024.
An old warning sign before the 100 Mile Wilderness Section in Maine on The Appalachian Trail. It reads;
"IT IS 100 MILES SOUTH TO THE NEAREST TOWN AT MONSON. THERE ARE NO PLACES TO OBTAIN SUPPLIES OR HELP UNTIL MONSON. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS SECTION UNLESS YOU HAVE A MINMUM OF 10 DAYS SUPPLIES AND ARE FULLY EQUIPPED. THIS IS THE LONGEST WILDERNESS SECTION OF THE ENTIRE A.T. AND IT'S DIFFICULTY SHOULD NOT BE UNDERESTIMATED. GOOD HIKING. M.A.T.C.'
I remember seeing this sign when I was doing my SOBO Thru Hike on the A.T. It filled me a sense of excitement, yet weariness about such a long stretch of wilderness. Looking back this was actually a beautiful section of pure wild Maine wilderness that I will come back too at some point and backpack again. More stories to come.
Photo of some mountain flowers on top of Mount Katadin, June 1st, 2016.
Photo was taken on June 1st, 2016 on top of Mount Katahdin, my first day doing my SOBO Thru Hike on the Appalachian Trail. I remembered being mesmerized by the 360 beautiful mountain views of Maine wilderness. I lived in Florida for a long time and coming out here for the first time, the scenery took my breath away. "The first step of 2,189.1 miles left to go" I thought to myself. I was 21 years old with a backpack carrying my home and a head full of the wonderous dreams of what the trail had in store for me.
