... you don't remember much before coming to the society. hell, you only remember the society if you're being honest. waking up at the age of twelve to see other arachnid powered superhero's, ones who shared some of your abilities and traits, was not something you thought was possible. it was odd at first, meeting all of these new faces.
miguel, peter b, jessica, spider noir, penni, patvir, gewn, miles...
the nine of them who once were strangers but now something more, something like family. it was easy to get into the swing of things, training with everyone and learning how to use your powers more efficiently. it was discovered early on that you weren't like most of the spiders crawling around the society.
sure, you possessed the same basic traits; the spider sense, sticking to walls, the flexibility, super strength, the appetite, accelerated speed. but there were other traits you had like instead of bleeding red it's blue, a venomous bite that paralyzed others, you go into a sort of hibernation mode when you get too cold, water repels off of your skin, your webs came from your wrists, peppermint, citrus, and lavender are scents you avoid at all costs.
these were just a few of the things different with you, sometimes you felt as if you'd never figure them all out. thanks to your friends and family it got easier.
miguel taught you how to control your powers, to not let them get out of hand.
peter b was always there to remind you to let loose and have fun.
jessica taught you how to sneak around undetected and fight in hand to hand combat.
spider noir took you out on missions.
penni helped with fixing up your gadgets and upgrading your tech, often reminding you of a younger cousin or niece.
patvir, gwen, and miles acted like the sibling you never had, showing you tips and tricks for flipping about the various dimensions you all visited.
hobie was your rock, your rebellious other half, it didn't take long for the two of you to warm up to one another after the first initial meeting.
everything was great! you were happy, accepted into the crazy web of a found family.
... lounging above miguels computer in a makeshift hammock you fiddled with your web-shooters. it wasn't like you really needed them still, it was nice to have them on hand in case your webs decided they've drained themselves mid-combat, something that's happened before. suddenly your gizmo began to go off before lyla popped up, her face screwed up in concern.
"web-weaver! i'm so glad i reached you, everyone else is out dealing with other threats. i flagged an anomaly in another multiverse, do you think you can handle it alone?" she asked, a little apprehensive about sending you out by yourself.
"no prob, ly! i'll be back before anyone can even notice i'm gone." you said.
"as long as you're sure. sending coordinates now." and with that her holographic figure disappeared back into to watch.
once you got the coordinates you opened a portal below your makeshift hammock and jumped down through it. bright colors passed as you dropped, knees tucked up close to your chest and arms hanging above you. suddenly you were in the city, rapidly approaching the ground.
with one subtle but quick motion a web shot out from your shooter, latching onto a nearby building. pulling up you narrowly missed the ground, toes skimming the concrete before you flung yourself back into the air, executing a flip as you went. you swung about the city for a moment, taking the time to freely soar through the night skies before landing atop a rather large building. glancing down at your gizmo a map pulled up with a blinking red dot just east of where you were.
"let's get this show on the road." you muttered, taking off in the direction the red dot was with the map to guide you.
... "come on kingpin, i thought you had more sense than th-" you were rude cut off as a large chunk of concrete slammed into you, sending you off trajectory.
it took a moment for the ringing in your ears to subside but once it did you sense told you to get away! with a quick motion you rolled to the side and began to skitter up the wall, narrowly missing the fist that pounded into the ground where you once were.
"oh great! the repair cost for this is going to be tremendous." you said. you had to think quick, kingpin was freakishly strong and clever to boot. you, while trained by the best, weren't skilled enough to be taking this guy on alone so you had to find a way to wrap this up fast.
just as you began to form a plan the machines behind kingpin began to act up. coming to life of their own accord a low humming sound began to permeate the air. your spider sense began to act up seemingly synchronizing with the frequency being put out. the distraction was big enough for kingpin to grab hold of you, ripping you away from the wall and trapping you in his clutches.
panic began to set in as the obnoxiously large man began to slowly squeeze, taking your breath and uncomfortably crushing your bones bit by bit. just as it felt like your bones were going to snap a battle cry ripped from your throat and you opened your mouth, biting down on the meaty hand entrapping you.
with a shout kingpin loosened his grip then, he threw you.
he threw you right into the machine and then you were gone.
