The end of the day was coming rapidly, and it was nearly time to check the status of his wager with Maven. When he heard the shuffle of feet beyond the doors of the infirmary, he finally turned his gaze to his wristwatch. Classes were over. For a few following moments, Thomas busied himself with arranging folders and stacks of papers on his desk, creating some measure of organized chaos for the next day before, at last, he pushed himself to his feet and began down the hallway toward Maven’s room, offering three short knocks on the door once he arrived, “Maven?”
maven made it, he literally made it through a whole without intaking alcohol. he had to admit to himself that it felt good, to be cleansed even though it was just for today. for a little wager he and thomas had.
he was on his way back to his room—after watching a little sparing match after his class— then he saw thomas knocking on his door. ❝ you’re early, ❞ he said amused. ❝ seems like someone’s eager to drink up some alcohol, huh? ❞ he teased. ❝ i am perfectly sober, which means i win, right? ❞
