Leaving for now.
No, I am not leaving the fandom. I am leaving roleplaying. Big things have been going on and it’s gotten me, so I am leaving roleplaying and everything.. Only to stay on my personal.
I might be back some time.. Who knows?
As they walked into the building, L ran his fingers through his horribly drenched and tangled hair. It’d probably be best to go get some towels and dry off. Perhaps even change his clothes, considering that his pants were weighing him down and you could almost see through his entire shirt. Then after he should probably dry off the floors. All of the water was dripping off both their bodies and causing puddles to form. Now that it was much more quiet, L was able to hear clearly. “ It’s fine. I was just thinking, nothing special. Anyways, it’s nice to meet you, Mavis. I’m Ryuzaki. ” L returned the mumbling, shuffling his way further into the building. Strange name. Judging by that, he assumed that she wasn’t from Japan. But he could discuss that in a moment. “ Would you like a towel to dry off? I can even offer you some other clothing as you dry off the pair you’re wearing.. Personally, I think it would be better if you did. You might get sick. And the water that’s falling off of you is making the floors wet.. And if you sit down, you’ll get the furniture wet, too. ”
“ But of course, if you don’t want to, you don’t have to. ” L’s just trying to be nice. And by taking his offer, they’ll be less to clean up. Dry off first. Ask questions later. Hopefully the girl would be willing to answer his questions. And be honest about it. In return, he could answer hers if she had any. This was one of those rare days where he didn’t mind company. It was surprising that she even bothered going up on the roof to speak with him. Everyone else decided to leave him alone in his little moment of solitude. Secretly, he actually did want company. Being alone almost everyday of his life can get a little lonely. And he doesn’t know that his only friends are trying to kill him. So yes, having this little bit of company actually made him a little happy. But of course he can never let his guard down for even a second. He is the greatest detective, after all. This could be some sort of trick. Someone could have sent her here to gather information. Or kill him at that. Or both. People were always out to get him. Even if wanted this to be a simple and safe conversation, he can’t let his emotions get the best of him.
The young girl listened to what he had to say, memorizing his name in her head. She nodded with another one of her kind smiles as she looked down at the water dripping from her shirt and other clothes, not feeling cold at all, but she had to think about the place she was in. Manners. Even though she was a teenage girl, she had to remember manners around people no matter what. She quietly whispered that word to herself; 'Manners, Mavis..' Then she looked at the other one with a curious look on her face, nodding. It sounded like a good idea to get herself something to wear while waiting for her own clothes to get dried completely.
'That sounds like a good idea to me. I don't want all the stuff in here getting soaked because of my clothes either..' She let out some sort of nervous laughter. Mavis had never been used to being around people like this, and everything was so fresh and new in this place that she felt like she was a kid again, having no idea what to do or say.
'Anyways, it's nice to meet you too! I hope we can become friends or something.. I don't fancy enemies much..' She then blinked, looking around herself, The place was huge, she could already tell from being outside. 'Hey, you don't live here alone, do you? I mean, wouldn't that be awfully lonely?'
She knew that feeling herself anyways.. The feeling of being alone without anyone to share things with or trust. She always got held back in that stupid big mansion with nothing to do but read or listen to music or something. Her father really held her back all the time, which was enough to make her run away and try to find someone for her. If Ryuzaki decided to say yes to be her friend, it would be her first real friend. She didn't look at her family as friends, just.. relatives.
'I know how it feels to be alone. Back in the mansion, my dad always forces me to stay inside.. Telling me that the outside world is dangerous and that the humans are as well.. Like. He tells me they only want to burn us up and kill us, but I don't believe him. 'Cause if that would be true.. You would have tried already,' she mumbled, then she shook her head and realized she was babbling again, smiling awkwardly.
'Sorry.. I mean.. Uhmm.. Maybe we should get to the drying first and then get to the chatting, eh..?'
Oh — ! Someone’s actually talking to him.
That definitely snapped him back to reality. Unfortunately, he only heard a small portion of what she had said. Furrowing his eyebrows, he responded. “ Come again? ” To be exact, all he heard was the last sentence she had spoken. Which was enough for him to decide that they should go inside. The poor girl must be freezing to death. And if she actually took the time to come onto the roof to speak with him, it must be important. It didn’t matter how she was able to actually get onto his headquarters roof — it was more important to prevent her from getting sick. Once they got inside, that would be the most appropriate time to discuss things. Nevertheless, if L encountered a dangerous situation during their meeting, the girl would automatically be under suspicion. So he had almost nothing to worry about. L gradually stepped closer towards the girl, making sure if he spoke it’d be audible. “ Lets go inside. We can continue our conversation in there. ” With that said, he slowly made his way towards the doors. He would have waited for a response, but it’s not like he could hear her very clearly, anyways. He could barely make out what she said earlier. And besides, who would want to have a discussion in the freezing cold, where you couldn’t hear another’s words?
She blinked as she realized he still couldn't hear her that well, and as he started to make his way towards the doors she automatically followed after him, hugging herself as she began to feel how the coldness was getting to her. She had never been sick, 'nor did she believe she could get sick at all, but well.. This was one of the few times she actually felt the cold anyways.
She was curious about this person. Who was he and what did he do that made her so interested in him? Was it the way he was walking? His face, looking like he hadn't been sleeping for days? She didn't know, but just something made her feel interested about him, and she couldn't figure out what.. Not yet.
As they got inside, she looked around herself. She wasn't used to seeing big places like this. Back in Transylvania, in her father's hotel, everything was so ancient and old. She was used to that, not high quality buildings.. Now that they were inside, and it was a lot easier to hear, she kept herself behind the man and let out some kind of nervous chuckle. 'Uhm.. Yeah, what I said out there was just hello.. My name is Mavis Dracula. I hope I'm not in the way for you or anything..?'
She mumbled a lot, but only in the beginning. Water dripped from her hair, but she didn't even seem to care. In fact-- Mavis could just turn into her bat form and shake all the water off of her, but that could freak out this man, and that was the last thing she wished.. Every time she had done something unnatural for humans around them, they had freaked out and left her, so she had realized that she had to wait a little.
She also had a feeling that he would ask her how she managed to get on the roof, which was something she would answer immediately. She ha seen the tall building, and thanks to her own little curiosity she had simply walked up to the top to look at the view. She had a lot of different powers, but luckily she didn't have the power of sparkling in sunlight like those mainstream vampires nowadays.. She couldn't stand them. If she went into sunlight, she would get burnt. She wouldn't die, not immediately, but she would burn as if someone had thrown her into a fire, but the sun stung more and there was no smoke to make it hard to breathe for her.

Congratulations. You have encountered L — outside! But being in his presence at a moment of despair isn’t the ideal way of meeting him, now is it? Especially since he’s on the roof, and the rain is ice cold. The wind doesn’t help much, either. Dull hues eyed each raindrop that fell off of his dark, tangled strands of hair. Small little droplets fell on almost each bit of his bare skin. Felt more like icicles, rather than water. L was completely soaked, but he didn’t feel any different. His body was numb anyways. He could easily pull off as a statue from his lack of movement and minimum breathing. Eyelids twitched as he felt the vibe of other people being around him. Slowly cracking his neck over towards them. It was obvious he wasn’t in any mood for company. Not that he ever is, anyways. Social activities wern’t his speciality. Besides, if you spoke to him right now, he wouldn’t be able to hear you unless you got closer. The thoudering clouds and sound effects of rain crashing onto the world around him would prevent him from hearing any voices.
Mavis had thought she wouldn't get noticed by the human from where she was. She thought he had been more interesting than any other she had met, and she wanted to get to know him even though it seemed almost impossible. She looked up at the rain, being grateful of the clouds hiding away the sun for now. She came out from where she had been standing, not the best hiding spot..
She assumed the rain would be too heavy and loud for the other one to hear her, so she slowly made her way over to him instead, tucking some of her hair behind her ear with a smile of kindness. If her father had known about this, he would lock her in her room forever.. Running away into the world all on her own was something she would regret once she was either back home or if her father found her.
It was kind of cold being outside now, seeing as she was only wearing a very long, dress like, t-shirt and red and black striped stockings with a pair of red converse on her feet. She had black, transparent gloves reaching all the way under her shirt, covering her whole arm to her hands, only her fingers not covered. But due to her not being exactly human, she was used to the cold, just not being all wet from rain..
As she finally reached the male, she placed her hand next to her mouth as she spoke loud enough for him to hear at least; 'Hello! I'm Mavis Dracula!' She didn't think her name would be any weird to people at all, but the people who had actually met her had been quite confused by it. Her father was the one and only Dracula, but he was not like the stories told he was. He was a funny person and a caring one too.. She didn't get why people would understand that. 'I am sorry if I am interrupting you in anything!' she added before she turned to look around her.

Blinking slowly he watched her explode on him, and watched as he carefully made her way from behind the pole. “Erm…” Not getting the chance to get a word in he just sighed waiting for her to finish her minor rant. It seemed as if someone had been taught the wrong idea about the police. Rubbing the bridge of his nose he cracked an eye open seeing as she was done.
“The police— granted a bit intimidating and aren’t big fans of me in particular, are meant to be good. Just because you go to a police officer doesn’t automatically mean you’ve done something bad. People go there for various reasons, if their lost for example, people go to the police to find there way. Especially since it’s the middle of the night.”
“Also, you have yet to do anything that bothered me. I just figured it’d be safer for you to be around the police officers rather than me.” Rubbing the back of his neck he dropped the cigarette from his mouth crushing it with his foot. “It’s kinda strange ya would be scared of’em and not me though. Then again your a foreigner and ya don’t know much.”
Sighing he reached forward ruffling her hair. “But you should really work on going home if ya ran away. It’ll go bad with your dad right? He’s probably worried sick about you, he might be pretty mad if you don’t go home soon.
She sighed a little and shook her head. No matter how much he made the police sound good, she did not want to go home. She wanted to see more before she made her way back to the hotel. 'But really, I don't want to go to the police. I think it's better to be with you because you're nice to me!'
As he ruffled her hair she pouted and fixed it again, looking at him with her big blue eyes. She then looked around her and up at the sky. 'My dad will be worried, but I can't see him mad at me. Because my mum died right after I was born, which made him promise to take care of me and keep my safe.. Therefore he won't be angry at me 'cause he knows better than that.'
'That's how we see humans. Evil and nothing but bad people.. Though, I wanted to see myself. I thought they had changed, and they have. I have seen so much different stuff from dad's stories, and I don't think you are evil or bad or anything at all!' She smiled softly. 'Of course, I have met a few people who tried to attack me, but I kind of assumed there would still be bad people..'
She then blinked a little. 'Hey.. When does the sun come up? I need to find somewhere to be during the day because of the sun.' Mavis really believed that this guy knew about her being a vampire.

Blinking Shizuo watched her babble. It was… interesting to say the least. In a way she almost sounded like Izaya going on and on about how humans were interesting. She seemed to not want to harm them, or anyone for that matter so that would count as something. Her commenting on his speech made him raise an eyebrow, she was the one who came to a foreign land, with no knowledge of the language or people and yet she was commenting on how strange he was? And then she snatched his cigarette. A small tick formed on his forehead until she handed it back. Placing it back firmly in his mouth he sighed rubbing his forehead.
“Look girl, you’re th’ one speakin’ the foreign language around here. Only about a forth to half the population here knows English, so of course I’m gonna have an accent, I speak Japanese. How do ya not even know where ya are? Ya are aware you’re on Japan right? A large Island of sorts South of China?” Taking a deep drag he sighed crossing his arms. Well atleast she wasn’t one of those damn weeaboos that came from America. They were always so annoying, worse then Erika.
“As for my cigarette, it keeps me calm, I won’t melt, I don’t know what you’ve been taught at home, but cigarettes don’t do /that/ much damage to ya. You’ve been brought up pretty strangely, ya know that?” Sighing he scratched the back of his head. What was he supposed to do? He never really talked to people, and the only girls that approached him were bimbos who didn’t know who he was and attempted to cling to him or girls like Celty and Erika who just didn’t care anymore.
“Er… look I should probably take ya to a police center or whatever, to help ya get back home, because if your in a country unknowingly there’s a good chance you’ll get kidnapped or somethin’ like that…” Ignoring the part about Dracula being her dad he shook his head. The girl probably had some sort of mental disorder making her like that— Then again, there /was/ Celty, who was to say her dad wasn’t really Dracul—. Brushing off the thought he crossed his arms as he stared down at her. Police station would probably be best so they could identify her.
She blinked and looked around her a little, tilting her head. 'I ran away from home, have been moving the whole time too. My dad's going to kill me if I-- Police!? No way!' Suddenly she was gone in the blink of an eye. Of course, if one had paid good attention to her, one would notice that she had moved like a flash over to a nearby pole, hiding behind it while peeking out on the older one. 'Please! I do not want to go to the police! I read about them in my dad's books and they have weapons worse than other people.. Guns! And these black things they beat people with! I don't want that!'
She seemed to be panting, obviously scared. Why would he take her to them? Only people who had done something wrong was taken to the police, right..? And running away from home wasn't a crime, right? Right? Mavis knew that hiding behind the pole didn't seem to work out as well as she thought, so she slowly moved back to the blonde, rubbing her arm with a sad look on her face.
'I didn't do anything wrong, did I..? I know I'm from far away from home, but I have never done anything wrong..' She then looked down on her converse shoes. 'If I scare you or something I understand if you want to go so you won't need to have me bothering you, I should have known there was some kind of line.. I obviously went across it. I'm sorry, just please don't take me to the police..' She now looked up with some kind of pleading look that children used to get their way sometimes. If only she could use the pouty bat face.. But that could only happen if she turned into a bat, and if she did, she could make people stare.. Which was probably not what the other one wanted.
Mavis knew that it was dangerous for her to be around this place.. Thinking about the sun and all that. It was still dark, but it wouldn't be dark forever.. She'd have to hide somewhere and sleep during the day.. Be in the shadows. She shook her head and looked around her, at the people once again as if she was looking for someone, but then turned her attention back to the blonde. '... I'm sorry,' she repeated and almost looked like she was on the edge of crying, biting her lip. Now her sharp corner teeth peeked out a little.
I just want to see the world..

He wasn’t expecting the small girl to follow him, or be that fast for that matter. Blinking a moment he listened to her. ‘Ah… English,’ he thought for a moment. Luckily foreign languages had been the main thing he was good at when he was a student. English was one he had chosen to take up seeing as the large amount of foreigners popping up. Slipping his hand in his pocket he listened to her talk. ‘Dracula, eh?’
Tilting his head ever so slightly in confusion he stared at her, “Isn’t Dracula that mythological vampire or somethin’ like that? I ne’er was into folk lore, in high school…” he mumbled slipping the cigarettes out of his pocket. “Either way, this is Ikebukuro. Not sure how far away you are but you don’ seem like you intended to come to Japan at all…” Placing one of the cancerous sticks in his mouth, he took out a lighter, lighting it and taking a deep drag.
“Also, ya should probably avoid people wearing the same color in large crowds, they’re generally up to now good.”
Throughout the whole conversation, his japanese accent had been thick, turning most of his ‘l’s into ‘r’s as he tried to speak clearly enough for her to understand. It was difficult seeing as he hadn’t really used the language, except when Erika and Walker wanted to squeal over it for whatever reason.
She blinked when he mentioned her dad and smiled awkwardly, rubbing her head as she nodded. 'Yeaaah.. That's my dad..' She bit her lip and started to wonder if he was searching for her.. He was so overprotective when it came to her, and she just knew he would be around somehow.. He would find her if she didn't find her own way home to the hotel. 'I never got to go to school. I learned to read by myself, and there's so many stories! I can't really believe what my dad says about you.. You're not bad at all. You're so.. Interesting! There's so much I want to see and learn about you humans!'
She didn't seem to care if she was babbling like she was. It was obvious that she wasn't one to hide what she was, but at least she didn't shout it out loud for every single bypasser to hear. 'By the way, you speak funny,' she added and giggled a little. She didn't mean it in a mean way, she liked it. She liked this man.. Because he was nice to her.
'Ikebukuro?' she repeated as she twirled around. 'Oooh.. It's a lot more.. Darker in Transylvania.. Well, at least when I am awake.' She stared at the cigarette and blinked, tilting her head curiously before she reached out to snap it away from him, taking a closer look. She poked it and got burned of course.. 'Ouch..! Hey, this can hurt you! It's not good for you! My uncle, Frank, used to nibble on this.. weird.. snaky thingy and it was not good for him at all! You shouldn't go around .. doing whatever it is you do with it because you can burn yourself! W-What if you melt!?' She really had no idea how things worked in the human world, but she handed the cigarette back to the other one.
'Colors? Oh, like the ones that you scared away! Well, now that I know they are dangerous I can easily just get away from them.. I just didn't really know if they were kind people or --' She blinked and suddenly looked scared. 'Do they have onions!? Are they hunters!? Do they run after you with fire and weapons!?'

Pulling his cigarette from his mouth Shizuo eyed the small grouped together gang surrounding the area. It seemed as if they had a target, and like vultures, they leaned towards the weak and helpless, meaning it was probably another weak girl they chose to hit on. Pushing himself off the wall Shizuo slowly stalked towards them, his cigarette falling and hitting the pavement.
Soon after his glasses followed in suit, only instead of being dropped on the ground, they were tucked into the safe compounds of his vest. Stepping up behind one of the larger members he tapped him on the shoulder curiously, getting a slight glimpse of a petite girl wrapped up in herself. Of course they would approach her.
“Oya. She looks scared, don’t ya think it’d be best to leave her alone?” It was a partial demand for them to leave now. He hated violence, but even more so, he hated it when defenseless kids were harmed. It took a few moments to register who he was, before the male was scrambling back quickly his eyes wide.
Ah, the initial reaction. And before Shizuo could do any real damage, the boys had dispersed, fear evident on their features. Well then, that had gone smoother then he had anticipated. Shrugging he slipped the blue tints back onto his face he stuffed his hand into his pocket beginning to wander off. He had no real purpose to stick around here anyways.
Mavis blinked as she heard a voice, looking up to see how the people that had been eyeing her was now looking scared. It took her a moment to spot the blonde man who seemed to be what they feared. First she thought he was one of those people that were going to go after her and try to hurt her, but as she realized he had actually pretty much helped her, she jumped up automatically when he started to wander off, in a blink of an eye standing next to him. She had her benefits with being a vampire, like speed. She wasn't afraid to use it either.
'Excuse me?' she asked and pulled a shy smile while also poking the man's arm just to make sure she got his attention. 'Uhm.. Thank you. I thought they were actually going to hurt me.. I'm kinda lost too, and you seem to be someone knowing the area. I'm..' She looked kind of sad and then glanced down. 'I'm pretty far away from home you see..' She shook her head and made herself look happy again. It was stupid to put up sad expressions around strangers. Maybe she could get to know this guy more?
'I'm Mavis! Mavis Dracula.' Little did she know that such a name could affect people more than she'd think, but smiled and reached her small hand out for the man to take if he wished.

Mavis walked around silently, having no idea where she was. There were humans everywhere, but none of them seemed to come after her with knives or anything to harm her. Did she look like a normal girl to them perhaps? Or had they seen someone like her before? She continued to move around silently, trying to figure out where she was now. She didn't quite understand what people said around her because she was English, not.. wabbablahish. Well, that's what she called what they spoke for now until she found out. She had ran away from home, too eager to see the world to stay in the hotel with her dad, now she kinda regretted it.. People stared at her. Guys looking like they were her age stared, all of them seeming to wear the same color of something which made Mavis frown.
She had black hair, big blue eyes and pale skin. Her lips were black as well, behind them she was covering her sharp vampire teeth. She didn't have a problem with people seeing them, but she also knew they could freak out of it, which she didn't want to.. She wanted to have friends that accepted her. Mavis also had a pair of faint black gloves and a long shirt. Then a pair of red and black stockings with red converses. Now she was walking silently, sighing as she looked up at another sign. It was the same one she had passed two hours ago..
She let out a frustrated sigh and sat down on a nearby bench, not liking the stares from the gangs around her. It made her feel quite.. Uncomfortable.. Pulling her legs up to her and wrapping her arms around them, she rested her chin on her knees. 'I should have listened to dad,' she mumbled quietly to herself.
WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD?
The vampire teen blinked at the weird looking thing, tilting her head a little. What a weird question to ask someone like her! She was bored all the time! Mavis sighed and crossed her arms. 'Well, since Dad won't let me out of the hotel, I am not able to go anywhere and do anything about my boredom. I have already read the books in the library--twice! I don't know what humans do when they're bored, but it is certainly not being stuck at home all day doing nothing!' she yelled, hoping her dad heard her.
You gotta love this guy, seriously
