i really love tattoos. recently i thought about who would even consider getting one and came to these conclusions:
Eren: yes. definitely yes. bc hes free to do whatever he wants with his body
Mikasa: maybe. something small and simple, in honor of family or those closest to her
Armin: unlikely. hed think it looks silly on him, like "im not cool enough for a tattoo" + he wouldnt be able to decide on a design
Jean: yes. hed even try to sketch designs himself, putting a lot of his own meaning into them (though no one would understand it and hed get teased for it as always)
Sasha and Connie: would get matching meme tattoos on their arms or legs, that only make sense if they put their limbs together
Reiner: no, even if he wanted to. as soon as he brings it up, Karina would start manipulating him, she would be absolutely against it, and in the end, for her peace of mind, Rei would completely drop the idea
Annie: unlikely, but if she did, shed never tell anyone. the tattoo would be somewhere covered by clothes and itd probably be something unexpectedly cute
Hitch: would probably get something trendy and popular, then regret it a hundred times, because a tattoo isnt a dress, you cant just take it off
sometimes i draw certain pairings not bc i like their relationship /i might even find them toxic and wrong/, but bc i like how these characters look together aesthetically
and i cant help myself
i guess thats why fandoms have tons of weird ships that appeared from who knows where and exist for who knows why
i keep running into the opinion that Zekes plan is eugenics. explaining in simple terms why its not
crudely put, eugenics is: we select and breed only specific people because we want to create a perfect society where everyone is beautiful, smart, healthy, successful, and has no flaws whatsoever
Zekes plan is: eldians are born and suffer, hated and used by the whole world, so maybe its better for us to simply not be born at all, anyone, ever?
do you see the difference?
while eugenics followers dabble in selection, wanting to build their little utopia and choosing only those they deem "worthy," Yeager simply wants to free people from suffering, free the world from titans, letting those currently alive die a natural death, but not giving birth to the next generation into a world that will hate, be afraid of them and use them just because of their blood
he does not single out "worthy" individuals within this group; he establishes the causal chain "eldians are born -> they are hated, the world is afraid of them -> they suffer, and this cycle cannot be broken -> lets not be born and peacefully fade into oblivion"
even simpler: eugenics is "we keep these ones, and remove those". Zekes plan is "we remove everyone"
this is a fundamental difference in goals and meaning, even if the implementation might seem similar
important! im not saying his plan is ideal or that he is right. but, setting aside emotions and engaging reason, i understand where this came from and why. his plan stems from his own traumatic experience, and he projects it onto all eldians ("i suffered, it would have been better if i never existed, and its better for others too, because there is no other way")
i believe its necessary to correctly interpret his words and goals, rather than hurl accusations about something he didnt say or mean
P.S before anyone wants to start a fight, please note that im talking specifically about *goals and motives*, about what drives the character *in his head*
a maniac kills a victim, or a person kills in self-defence - both are murder, but the *motive* is important, right? its the same with Zekes plan
