BACK TO WORK SLAG!
Ok, Mark this date. The date the furnace was lit. It's time to get back to work. I am sick and tired of being here when i can be somewhere better and happier. A recurring realization
As his eyes slowly began to open he could see the sun's rays peek over the mountain's horizon. For a second he thought it was a dream, but as he took a deep breath he realized he was very much awake and another day was upon them. Everything he knew and everyone he loved had another day of existence to look forward to. As always this gave him hope. But as quickly as hope filled his heart so did dread. You see the day was young and just starting but with each day a constant reminder was always in back of his mind. Is THIS the last sunrise we will see? Is today the day it all ends? It was a terrifying reminder that haunted every living soul on the realm of Tampara. With a heavy heart and a deep sigh he gathered his weapons and pushed through his fears to conquer the day. For you see a new day meant another chance at victory, another chance to win the war, or at least another opportunity to push back Hell's advancements and avoid the rising of the black sun...and the dark dawning of the end of all life. Make each day count, because you'll never know when it will be your last.
The problem with sleep.
Wulf didn’t sleep much these days. When he did, “rest his eyes” as he put it, he always seems to put himself in the most uncomfortable of spots. He finds small bolders, or broken tree logs to sit on and he uses his sword as a leaning post.
It’s like he doesn't allow himself a good night’s rest. It always breaks my heart to see him like that. And when the poor bastard does manage to finally fall a sleep he only gets a few hours of rest before waking up startled from a nightmare. Most times he is alone when this happens because he always separates himself from the camp. But I always see it...I’m always aware.
We all have our nightmares. That’s what war does to a soldier, It fills our heads with guilt and fear ruining any chance at peace we try to claim for ourselves. But Wulf’s nightmares seemed to be on another level of self torture.
I see this when he sleeps…His eyes tighten shut and he clutches on to his sword tighter and tighter. It's like he loses himself. His breathing becomes sporadic and he mumbles under his breath like a drunkard. It sounds like he is praying. I’ve never got close enough to make it out before he awakens.
That’s the scary part…
When you have to wake him up. Every time, it never fails, no matter how much you try to ease him out of his sleep he always awakens with teeth clinched, demonic growling, eyes wide open...on fire and paranoid out of his mind.
It takes him a few seconds to regain his mind and remember where he is and who we are for that matter. There’s even been times where he has drawn his sword on friends ready to defend himself. When this happens time stands still as we wait for him to regain his senses. And every time this happens I fear he would still be in his nightmare state, lost in his personal Hell…Lost and Un awake able.
For those few seconds it feels like an eternity…and I can’t help but wonder if I’ll have to put him down before he kills us all. If it's even possible to put him down if need be. It’s a terrifying feeling.
The rage within him is getting out of control.
Now I fear him when he sleeps as much as I fear him when he is awake.

This sword is known as Spirit. It represents the human will and undying fire inside each of us. Like the human spirit this sword is seemingly unbreakable.
