And we’re back after an art block! I really really enjoyed doing the character acting for this dialogue. It’s such a tender moment in the original writing, and I hope I was able to capture the spirit of it here. The flashbacks are from an earlier part of the fic, where the two of them go through L’s old art!

Anyways in my own personal canon Atem just decides “hey I’m a pharaoh I do what I want” and he just comes back down to earth to hang out with the gang whenever he feels like it

Yugi just wakes up one day, looks to the side to see what time it is and instead jumps because a no-longer-transparent friend is currently sat at his desk reading a book or looking through his deck or something. He just casually goes: “Morning, Yugi! So I’ve got some ideas for you deck...” like he never left for the afterlife.
