"For this Rotate meets.. event, we're very happy to invite our friends from the Portugese vinyl-exclusive imprint label Pluie/Noir.

Run by Bruno Santos aka Cleymoore, co-managed by Diogo Lacerda & Marc Milner. It was created with the sole purpose of releasing music with a very specific signature and a cutting-edge attitude, in a complete graphical package. Pluie/Noir challenges what can be achieved within the parameters of dance music by empowering its carefully selected repertoire of artists.

The label saw its first release in 2012 and in 2013 came the very special one year compilation album,which was an instant succes. The upcoming release is the Album EP from the Marx Trukker, who wil be playing live on the Rotate event at the Hoppetosse. The releases have limited pressing with beautiful sleeve artwork, ensuring it is as collectible as it is listenable."

Prints are gallery quality Giclée print on natural white, matte, ultra smooth, 100% cotton rag, acid and lignin free archival paper using Epson K3 archival inks. Custom trimmed with 2" border for framing.

The Pluie/Noir Podcast is a bi-monthly audio-visual episode representing P/N’s work as an artist collective.

"Get Perlonized at Lux Frágil"

Main flyer and three teasers for the first ever "Get Perlonized" night in Portugal with Zip and Sammy Dee, organized and promoted by Lisbon's Dogtown back in 2011.

The design was based on the "oh-so-known" Perlon design, developed and imagined by german design studio Double Standards. The Perlon logo and the boldy typefaces were kept on both the main flyer for the event, and the 3 teasers (used to promote the event slowly before the main announcement of the line-up).

The unconvencional format was suited to printing (folded) and to facebook's profile images at the time, giving it the maximum network visibility.

"Five Years of Cult.Beat"

Digital & print artwork for Cult.Beat's fifth anniversary.

Final layout chosen by the promoter. Although it stands out as a geometrically complex layout, the grid is fairly simple. It uses mainly facetypes, geometric figures and lines, put together on a black painting background that gave it a textured and high-contrast palette. 

Besides the main poster that contains all the info, the other two worked as teasers for the event before the final reveal of the line-up.

"Archipel 100: Contemplation"

Digital artwork & Painting for Archipel, record label based in Canada. This release was a milestone in the record label's history as it was it's 100th release.

Due to the name of the compilation I decided to do an abstract painting meant for "contemplation" and awe thinking. The layout of the 100th release was meant to be the new standard for all releases onward, so it was simple and functional while still keeping an identity that would make it easily recognizable and associated to Archipel even though the label's logo was removed from the cover.

The release is out on all major digital music stores featuring a big roster of international artists.

Although this was not the final layout chosen by the promoter, it's a relevant essay on simple layout design using mainly Facetypes and Lines. Simple lines, strong bold fonts, plain backgrounds, keeping the biggest visual impact possible in the simplest geometric composition.

"Duck It"

Painting and logo re-design for Duck It, event promoter from France.

Painting was done using black, viridian green and blood orange acrylic inks on a 30x30 cm natural unbleached medium-weight cotton stretched canvas. The main idea stood on the shocking/surprising value of the unconventional color scheme used while keeping the origami-type structure of the original logo. The painting was then digitally post-manipulated and the original type-logo was added.

"Cleymoore at A Capela"

Flyer for Cleymoore's djsets at "A Capela", Bairro Alto, Lisbon.

The first event took place on the night of the "Harpsichord Revolution Day", a national holiday celebrating the end of the Dictature and the start of the new Constitution back in 1974 - hence the harpsichord in the middle and the red as background. The other two backgrounds were random designs, one purely digital, the other purely organic.

Original Soundtrack for "Pedro", the short experimental movie by Dário Pacheco & José Gonçalves. The short film is part of the official runner up for best short film in this years "Queer Lisboa 17" festival. Debut was on the 23rd of September 2013, at Cinema São Jorge, Room 3, Lisbon.

Digital & print artwork for Barcelona's Sonar: Off-Week 2013, to one of the side-events organized and promoted by Cosmo Records and Hour Glass Events: Cosmo Records Showcase with Pluie/Noir & Improvist.

The design was at first done by Basor in a yellow scheme, handed over to me in a "exquisite corpse" kind-of-way where the color scheme was changed and teaked, and the space was re-arranged to fit all the details needed. The background was exchanged for my "Networking I" illustration, keeping the biggest visual impact possible.
