watching got and arya's arc with the many faced god is so speaking to me right now idk
your boy been doing shit and getting things donnnne lately
went through all of our clothes (again) bc we have too many does it ever end
deep cleaned the kitchen from halfway down to the floor. like spent 2 hours scrubbing floor boards/under the cabinets so my kiddo can crawl around in there bc its the easiest to block off from the puppy.
im always doing kitchen shit tbh. i try to clean the fridge once a week and i can not tell you how much time ive spent vacuuming latley. dog makes a mess of everything so literally im vacuuming im at least twice a day in the living room and then also in the kitchen and dining room and everywhere else bc i might as well.
started doing all the projects my dad says he will but doesnt. example, kitchen drawer face broke about a month ago maybe longer. my dad has been saying hell fix it but clearly hasnt. so i did it. and the only thing my dad has to say about is that i should have done it differently. idk man, drawer works great and it took me 20 mins over a couple hours (bc yknow baby)
next on my list is baby proof the living room but that is such a mountain of a task. its alright for now but.
also decided to teach myself to sew. honestly pretty proud of myself of the tiny bit i accomplished in one go so far. well see how far it goes lol
i knowive said it a thousand times but my dad pisses me off so much. and at the same time he breaks my heart.
i like my dad. when hes sober, when its early enough on the weekends that he hasn't had too many beers or worse yet. the hour after he gets off work before his blood alcohol returns to resting level.
i like when we have conversations about finances or game of thrones or building projects. my dad has so much potential to be a great dad. and i used to think he was and that's the heartbreaking part. for the little guy that i was, who misses doing everything with him. i was his kid. we walked to the grocery store in the snow. anytime he went to the store, i went with. i went to every side job i was allowed to go on with him. i used to think it was the funniest thing in the world when he would get aggressively angry on the phone with like phone company support. we played video games together. he would sit me in his lap in the car and let me drive figure 8's in old parking lots. i was so excited to get to help him build whatever this time in the basement or help with oil changes and learn everything. i thought he was best cook and baker and driver and-
and i know a lot of that is growing up. no one's parent is the super hero you thought they were when you were small.
but my dad is straight up just an arrogant prick. idk i guess its just that now that im also a dad, im so much more aware. aware of how i perceive him but also of how he perceives me. bc im a dad and i just cannot even believe. like i could never look at my son and say the things my dad says to me. i cant imagine treating my kid the way my dad treats me. like i straight up cant.
dreamt I finished a sword and had my name engraved on it
Iām proud of myself
iām proud of you too even though you did not actually accomplish anything
Apparently Iām in the land of rattlesnakes

no queers irl but i found a little queer couple who makes youtube videos and they have a baby and they just like vlog about life. i cant body double but people on a screen just talking and cleaning is so good
It's sad to hear that someone like Hank Green is falling into ai use/abuse. He's just a person, but as someone assumedly more tuned in to the environmental cost as an environmentalist and science advocate, and the effect it has already has on academics, I'd expect him to be more staunchly against it. Sad.
lol my dad has a sister he didnt grow up with but they talk kinda sorta and she lives kinda far and hes seen her in person maybe 3 times at most. anyways shes coming to the state to visit other people and is stsying with us for the night.
my dad did all the planning. "planning". she was supposed to come tomorrow? at 7am? or pm? but actually now shes coming today. and like is a few hours away.
or was, a few hours ago. no idea how far she is now. ive been cleaning like crazy. my dad will not help. my moms at work late. my brother is being a saint and helping. my bf helped but hes at work. like omg
so at first it was like okay, we have til tomorrow night to clean up. thats chill af. then its okay, we have til the morning to clean, and thats okay i suppose. and then its actually you have like 5 hours at most. omg
lol really over just everything tbh
took dog to the vet. bad experience. i have yet to have a Good experience with a vet, but i also have never felt like punching a vet before. usually its "i dont like you but whatever do your job where you charge too much and give no answers and dont explain shit youre doing"
im fucjing mad as fuck. fucking vet was late as fuck, to the point that multiple staff came in to the room to apologize. i didnt really mind. maybe youre a really great vet and are actually talking to the other pet parents is what i thought. im chilling, dog is getting antsy as fuck bc its over 30 mins of waiting in a 6x6 room with nothing and we keep telling him not to chew the couch. lil training sesh is only so distracting in a fucking vet office with almost see through doors.
vet comes in. vet looks annoyed af to begin with but again, whatever. long days right. dont care, youre here now. within dead ass the first fucking minute he squeezes my dogs mouth closed so hard i stg his fingers were turning white and my dog is whimpering. there was nothing. was the puppy on his legs? yes. youre a vet. i have the leash. say "hes mouthy" say "sit" say fucking anything other than your first fucking instict be to fucking hold my dogs mouth closed.
you are a fucking vet. your job requires you to be around animals. you should have seen we have a fucking big ass 3 month old from the fucking paperwork, or any of the all of the staff in front who all came to say hello ti him. if you dont like big dog puppy bites, dont take the dog. i dont care what the fuck you do with your own dogs at home, you are a fucking professional at your job with clients and their pets. you do not put your fucking hands on them. youre a pet professional. there are so fucjing many so so so fucking many options other than forcibly squeezing my fucjing dogs mouth shut.
and so i pull my dog back, and he suts between my legs and barks like fuck at this dude and i do not stop him. because why the actual fuck should my dog not be barking at you you awful fucking vet who walked in and your first interaction with the dog os hurting him. your job is to walk into a room with a pet youve never met. be fucking better.
not to mention him being unapologetic. "sorry if i offened you" shut the fuck up you are not sorry youre just saying shit bc i yelled at you i your place of work bc youre a fucking asshole. i didnt yell at him, i shouldve. i didnt say half the shit i wanted to.
i pulled him back i said "were not doing that" and he said "he bit me" and man i wanted to fucjing throw man off his fucking chair and walk out but im not paying for it and its mot under my name. im fucjing pissed. im mad that a fucking vet is like that first of all but im mad that my mom did fucjing nothing. that she said nothing and is instead now avoiding talking to me bc she "didnt see" and so she just booked another appointment and it doesnt matter apparently and im so fucking done
im done with this fucking dog i jeep trying to do everything right for for everyone else to not give a fucking shit and be mad about it when his behaviors aren't improving bc no ones doing the shit. i wish i had the heart to just fucking take him somewhere, call the person and have her come take him back. im so fucking sick of this.
why dont jobs have start and end times listed this should be a legal requirement how am i supposed to apply if i dont know what shift it is
itll say "evening shift" what does that mean? is that 4pm? is that 6pm? is that 8pm? what is 2nd shift? is it 2pm? os it 12pm? is it 4pm? i need to know š

Ridiculous yet effective ways to deal with Executive Dysfunction
Dealing with executive dysfunction and ADHD becomes so much easier when you stop trying to do things the way you feel like you should be able to do them (like everyone else) and start finding ways that actually work for you, no matter how āsillyā or āunnecessaryā they seem.
For years my floor was constantly covered in laundry. Clean laundry got mixed in with dirty and I had to wash things twice, just making more work for myself. Now I just have 3 laundry bins: dirty (wash it later), clean (put it away later), and mystery (figure it out later). Sure, theoretically I could sort my clothes into dirty or clean as soon as I take them off and put them away straight out of the dryer, but realistically thatās never going to be a sustainable strategy for me.
How many garbage bins do you need in a bedroom? One? WRONG! The correct answer is one within arms reach at all times. Which for me is three. Because am I really going to get up to blow my nose when Iām hyperfocusing? NO. In allergy season I even have an empty kleenex box for āused tissues I can use again.ā Kinda gross? Yeah. But less gross than a snowy winter landscape of dusty germs on my desk.
I used to be late all the time because I couldnāt find my house key. But it costs $2.50 and 3 minutes to copy a key, so now thereās one in my backpack, my purse, my gym bag, my wallet, my desk, and hanging on my door. Problem solved.
Iām like a ninja for getting pout the door past reminder notes without noticing. If I really donāt want to forget something, I make a physical barrier in front of my door. A sticky note is a lot easier to walk past than a two foot high cardboard box with my wallet on top of it.
Executive dysfunction is always going to cause challenges, but often half the struggle is trying to cope by pretending not to have executive dysfunction, instead of finding actual solutions.
so like being ten years older than my brother and living here, watching my parents parent him as he grows and i as grow older, makes it kinda hard not compare it to my own childhood. it's easier to notice patterns when youre not involved.
and theres just some things ive definitely learned that i do directly because of my parents, because i see them doing or saying things now with my brother and recognize how it affects me now. idk why im explaining this so hard lol.
but my dad is very anxious even tho hell never call it that. and he's very vocal about his paranoia and its at the root of his parenting choices. and im trying to teach myself that my dad is truly just over paranoid and it seeped into me, but its really fucking hard bc it seeped into me already.
idk its just one of those things. one i try and sheild my brother from and one i hope to not recreate with my own son.
I was at a courthouse once, and saw an indigenous australian woman in a dressing gown very carefully and gingerly making her way down the steps outside the courthouse, surrounded by family who were helping her down the stairs. We asked if she was OK, because she looked awful. She looked like she should have been wrapped up in bed with blankets and hot soup, not on the steps of a courthouse.
One of her family told us that she had given birth yesterday evening, but that Child Protection services had taken her baby away with no warning, claiming that she wasnt prepared to look after him. What had happened, is that she'd literally only just given birth -- hadn't even passed the afterbirth yet, is holding her blood-coated, crying, newborn baby to her chest -- and a nurse asked what her feeding plan was. She was tired from the birth and distracted by the brand new baby in her arms and thrown off by the timing of the question, but still, she managed to answer, and said she planned to breastfeed him whenever he was hungry.
Well apparently that wasn't enough of a plan for the hospital staff, who reported her and claimed that she was unprepared to look after the child, and claimed that had no social supports, and that the baby was at risk if left with her. All because a brand new mother, 30 seconds after giving birth, didn't have a PowerPoint presentation ready to go that cited the timing cycle she would feed her kid on, and instead simply said that she would feed him when he was hungry.
Child Protection services showed up, took her kid, and she was told to show up to court the next day to contest custody if she wanted her baby back.
So a woman who had given birth less than 24 hours prior was forced to rally her family and show up to court to prove that she a) had a feeding plan for the child, and b) had enough social supports to justify reclaiming her baby.
It was one of the most appalling things I'd ever seen. I don't even know if she won her case. They didn't know at the time we saw them, and after that brief interaction on the stairs, i never saw them again. I sincerely hope she got her newborn baby back.
That was about 5 years ago. And the exact same kind of thing is still happening today.
News broke today from a South Australian whistle-blower of the appalling treatment new mothers frequently receive, including hospital staff taking the baby away from the mother "for medical tests," only for the mother to then be told, with absolutely no prior warning, that the baby was not going to be returned to her.
