Man Vs Nature - A journey to Austria

“Posso condurvi sulle sponde di un lago montano? Il cielo è azzurro, l'acqua verde e tutto è pace profonda. I monti e le nuvole si specchiano nel lago, e così anche le case, le corti e le cappelle. Sembra che stiano lì come se fossero uscite dall'officina di Dio, come i monti e gli alberi, le nuvole e il cielo azzurro. E tutto respira bellezza e pace. 

Ma cosa c'è là? Una stonatura s'insinua in questa pace. Come uno stridore inutile. Fra le case di contadini, che non da essi furono fatte, ma da Dio, c'è una villa. L'opera di un buono o di un cattivo architetto? Non lo so. So soltanto che la pace, la quiete e la bellezza se ne sono andate.

Perché al cospetto di Dio non ci sono architetti buoni o cattivi. Davanti al suo trono tutti gli architetti sono uguali.”

Monolithic Wooden Steps Spiral Stairs

The idea behind this design was make a staircase “box on box” composed of monolithic wooden steps prepared for easy montage by any handyman. After extensive consideration on the selection of the materials, architect Lucjan Kuc of QC chose the spruce tree. Local sawmills were employed to carve the wood in a particular way which made it possible to create the “montage” of wooden blocks which built the construction. The boxes were glued together and connected by three rods. Every few stairs, steps were additionally secured to the wall with anchors for wooden piles.
