A Big Day!
Yes it was a big day today for Sam. His hints towards Scotland you saw, and last year remember this?
Those plans he was carrying when visiting Lallybroch?
Well last week, I was talking to his housekeeper - the real housekeeper that is, not the fake one that is doing the rounds on Tumblr as it seems lately and also dropped messages in my inbox. But you can not fool me as I know the real housekeeper and it's not the way she writes. She is much more sophisticated and very humble. I told her btw. how a fake one is spreading messages and gave her advice to put a scam alert out just like her Master H.
Anyway, the housekeeper told me how she accidentally threw away these plans, as he had them scattered around all over the place before he left in January and she thought it were just old papers. She was cleaning the house after he was away for months, and planned to come home last weekend because today something big was planned. And so he asked her where she put the plans for the distillery...
The housekeeper was a bit shocked and asked me if I still knew where they were online so she could print them out as if she never put them in the trash. So I helped her out as I had saved all the plans and sent them to her. And then this weekend....
I don't know if she accidentally slipped her finger on the phone or it was on purpose, perhaps as some sort of thank you, but then I found I was added to a private group chat on Signal. His gardener - who was also in the group - was telling about this brick he found in the garden of Sam's wee tavern. He posted this pic in the chat.
After the gardener found the brick he took it to an archeologist to be examined. Turns out the brick is ages old and most likely from the time the tavern was build. Later on as we know some buildings were torn down and rebuild to the house it is today.
When the housekeeper told her Master H about this discovery, Sam was over the moon. 'This discovery comes just in time' he said, when he told her about the extended plans for the distillery and how he is going to put the first stone today to start building the distillery together with a visitors area with of course a whisky and gin bar on the grounds of Midhope Castle, better known as Lallybroch for people in the OL fandom. This brick found in his garden will be the first one for the foundation which must have been a fortune sign.
So today was the big day to lay the first stone, and present the more extended plans as well. Being part of the chat gave me the information and access to exclusive pictures of it all.
Enjoy:
