Youâll never guess who I just saw around AUBURN BOROUGH! They looked exactly like ZENDAYA but I overheard them introduce themselves as MAYA KALFORD and say they were a TWENTY THREE year old FEMALE that prefers SHE/HER pronouns. I think theyâre a NURSE who has been living in the city for TEN YEARS.
Maya was born in Chicago, Illinois and lived there until she was ten when her mother and father divorced. Her father was a notorious cheat and her mother eventually had enough. In the divorce, her mother got custody of her and her older sister, then they moved to Vesta, Michigan.
Most of Mayaâs friends would say that she doesnât have a bad bone in her body, and they arenât wrong. Maya loves to help people and make them happy, which is partly why she wanted to be a nurse from when she was so young. When her grandma was sick and she visited her in the hospital a lot, it was the nurses who made her grandma smile during the worst times, and made her better when she was in pain. It was admirable, and so Maya set out to be just like them.
When Maya was thirteen, she noticed that most of her friends spent their time staring and admiring the boys in her class. Why she noticed that so clearly? Because she was spending her time staring and admiring her friends. Her feelings confused her which put her in a bit of a dark place for a while. However, as she understood herself more and gained more confidence, she realised who she was and slowly but surely began to show the world. Now, Maya is out and proud, and loving every second of it.
Although sheâs smart, Maya can be incredibly clumsy and ditzy sometimes. Every other day, Maya will be told âyou would lose your brain if it wasnât screwed onâ. Maya likes to say itâs because she uses all her brain power in work where she needs it most.
Being as friendly as she is can be Mayaâs unbecoming. Sheâs an optimist, and likes to see the best in people. Unfortunately, this has caused some embarrassing and upsetting moments for Maya when she put in trust in people who took advantage of her kindness. Despite her unpleasant experiences, she remains soft, always hoping for the best.
