The SAVE Act is back and has been rebranded as the SAVE America Act.
5 Calls has a script. So does Indivisible. However, I find that both lean a bit too heavily on Doing The Right Thing, and that strategy doesn't always work.
Ways to frame this when talking to Republican legislators:
The GOP is punishing women for getting married.
States already have laws on the books to prevent voter fraud. We don't need the Federal government telling us how to run our elections.
This bill is big government at its worst and only serves to create more bureaucracy and paperwork.
And remember: the point isn't always to change their minds. Often, that's a lost cause. Instead, you call to waste their time.
Not even so much to waste their time—you call to be COUNTED. The tally mark their staff brings them at end of day saying how many people called for/against each topic is the thing that actually makes the most difference.
Do it long-winded, do it brief, do it clumsily. Do it however you have to in order to get yourself to call. Just do it.
