[UTDR] [AU] UNDERTALE: ACT AU

thank you person on tiktok for the au name suggestion - it kinda fits their whole gimmick of acting as monsters for their safety

finally finished the references for my versions of the integrity and justice souls - Romeo and Julien! I love them so much, i can't believe they got them

the info I have for them is quite barebones atm, but feel free to read it below!

Romeo and Julien live in a small town situated near Mount Ebbot. When Julien -at 13 years old- had gone missing, it threw the small town into chaos for a bit. Three years later, Romeo ignores the warnings of Mount Ebbot only to end up missing as well.

Julien

(currently) 16 years old | he/they

he went to Mount Ebbot to escape his abusive household, he is not fond of discussing further

after being found by Toriel, he decided to stay with her in the Ruins

Julien did not have much on him, but Toriel helped fashion them a 'cow' boy costume to fit in - which he loves very much

he would be pretty content living in the Ruins

everything changed when another human fell 3 years later

Romeo

15 years old | he/him

he went to Mount Ebbot because he desired to practice for an upcoming recital in peace

fell 3 years after Julien did, and Julien was the first person Romeo met down there

When he fell, Romeo managed to bring his duffel bag with him too - the only contents inside being a costume meant for the ballet recital

he is a bit more motivated to leave the underground

Thinking about my hc of how bubbles and hibana struggle to connect due to her lack of memories.

Thinking about how bubbles would probably be harder for hibana to pick out in a crowd, (i hc that the baby dragons cant see very well at first) because its more like trying to find a vaugely person shaped void than just being able to pick out the person mentally.

Thinking about her struggling to understand common because the mental connection is less strong, and getting frustrated by only understanding certain words.

Thinking about the excitement she must have felt hearing bubbles meow or chirp at something/someone for the first time because that sounds close enough to dragon. Its something she can work with to understand.

(We know the dragons make cat adjacent sounds from a moment on junipers stream ((more specifically they make happy ghast sounds, and this knowledge brings me joy. it can now bring you joy too if you did not know this)))

Thinking about bubbles realizing she might not be able to connect with hibana in the same mental/magical way the others do but she CAN learn to at least communicate out loud with her.

Thinking about it becoming a common occurrence to hear them chirping and trilling at each other, in their own little language that isn't quite cat, and also isn't quite dragon, but its theirs and it works.

Thinking about that communication barrier being broken helping them connect more.
