this is probably a long-time coming and I should have just told you guys sooner, but I loved the idea of this RP so much that I couldn't stand the thought of not trying. With school starting up again (I'm taking 17 hours this semester) and also starting a new job, I'm afraid I just can't keep up with you guys.

You're all amazing writers and I know I haven't been the best Nate that you guys should have, so I'm going to have to stop. I'm really so sorry that it's taken me so long to do this with all my long, unexplained absences. Please don't hate me! I've had so much fun every time I've gotten on and you're all fantastic.

When he deepened the kiss, Serena sighed almost blissfully as she ran a hand through his hair. They had never gone this far before, other than when they were dating back in college. Well distance does make the heart grow fonder, and looking up at the man she was currently with Serena couldn’t help but think of how true that saying really was.

"Mm, it’s a win-win then." She mumbled before tracing his lips with her tongue begging for entrance when she felt a hand unbutton her blouse. Her hands made their way down to Nate’s bottom as she began working to get his belt off. In that moment she didn’t care about anything other than Nate, the guy her heart secretly longed for.

It used to take a lot to get Nate going, but it seemed as though Serena was the exception. The tip of her tongue outlined his lips and her hands worked at the buttons on his pants. "Mmmm." He moaned against her, pushing her back against the bar. He opened his mouth and met her ready tongue with his own, trying to close any sort of distance between the two of them.

They had been trying to take things slow. During all their secret outings, the most they had ever done was kiss or make-out, never letting it go all the way, as though that would somehow make it seem not as bad. He knew it was wrong, God, he knew it was so wrong on so many levels. But he had never wanted anything half as much as he wanted her. Right now. On the bar. Nate pulled back from her, trailing sweet, tender kisses down the milky skin of her neck. He finished his work on her blouse, finally popping open the last button and pushing it down off her shoulders. He had a moment of pause, trailing his fingertips down the bare skin of her arms, just drinking her in.

Serena put her glass down on the table beside Nate's. "Maybe?" She repeated, raising her eyebrow. She let out a laugh as Nate's hands smoothed over her forehead. She still got this sensational tingly feeling whenever he touched any part of her. "No we wouldn't want that at all." She shook her head playfully.

Her heart sped up as their lips finally connected only to have Nate pull away as he spoke. "Lucky for you I'm a really good persuader." She smirked before pulling him in for another kiss.

If you had asked Nate Archibald ten years ago where he would be in ten years, he could have painted you a perfect picture - he would be married to Blair Waldorf, his kindergarten sweetheart, have a kid with another on the way, living in a penthouse apartment on the Upper East Side, and doing absolutely nothing to pass the time except throwing fancy parties and drinking old booze. If you had asked Nate Archibald ten years ago if he thought the his current love interest would be Serena van der Woodsen, he would have laughed in your face.

When she kissed him, it made him feel light on his feet. Blair could never do that for him, even then. He pulled her closer to him, deepening their kiss, pushing his fingers through her hair again. Serena had always been 'the one that got away' for him. He never could have foreseen himself in the position he was now. Nate ran his hands down her arms, finally bringing them in front of him, popping open the top button of her shirt. "Lucky for you it doesn't take much to persuade me."

Serena smiled down at Nate as she took the glass from his hand when he walked towards her. She inwardly tensed when Nate mentioned her “vacation.” He almost never brought up Dan, her marriage or anything related to the topic. “I know.” She spoke in almost a whisper. “Traveling the world can keep you busy for weeks on end. But I did miss you.” She added softly, her eyes twinkling at him.

She glanced at him as he simply looked at her without saying a word.

Must be deep in thought. She mentally noted, wondering what had his brain so occupied. "I'm sorry. Any chance you can forgive me?" She pouted, leaning against his chest.

"Maybe." Nate replied simply, with a small chuckle. He downed his glass and set it down on an end table before turning his attention back to her. Serena had her face piled up in a mock pout and he knew, not for the first time, that he was irrevocably in love with this girl. He always had been. He reached up a finger and smoothed out the crease in her brow, "You better be careful. Wouldn't want you to get frown lines on that pretty little face of yours."

Nate slowly reached out and ran his hand through her long, wavy hair, reveling in the feel of it. It had been so long since he had been able to touch her, and it had been driving him crazy. He leaned down and pressed his lips softly to his. "Maybe I can forgive you, but you have some serious groveling to do."

Serena briskly walked down the streets towards The Empire, the famous, or infamous rather, hotel owned by her one and only best friend’s husband, and her step-brother Chuck Bass. She needed a break from, well, doing absolutely nothing all day. It had been a long time, too long in Serena’s opinion, since she had seen Nate Archibald. Sure she missed him for various other reasons, but above all he was one of her best friend’s and with Blair dealing with Chuck and Henry and her work, Serena could use a friend to talk to, and Nate understood her like nobody else did.

Once she had gotten Nate’s text, she entered the familiar building, where she had spent a majority of her time over the past year, waved hi to the doorman and made her way up to Chuck and Nate’s old suite. The elevator opened and she stepped into the room, a sly grin already forming on her face. “You’re lucky I’m here at all.” She teased before taking her coat off and walking towards him.

Nate's grin instantly widened the second he laid eyes on her. It had been weeks since he had seen her last and he paused for a second to drink her in - she was dressed casually, her cheeks were rosy from the cold, and her hair was mussed like the wind had carried her straight inside. Straight to him. He grabbed the other glass beside him and strode across the room, offering it to her. He then took his free hand and slid it across the small of her back, pulling her in close. "Your vacation was far too long."

He pulled back and examined her more closely. Even after all this time, he couldn't bring himself to accept the fact that out in public, she wasn't his. And he couldn't bring himself to say the word 'honeymoon' out loud, unless it was theirs he was referring to. So for now, her little romantic excursion with her new husband would be referred to as a vacation. Nate pulled himself out of his own mind. Now was not the time to dwell on things that could never be. "I know I shouldn't complain, but it's rude to keep a man waiting, Serena."

You have no idea. I'm pretty sure they would run my ship into ground the minute I turned my back. Not saying they aren't capable, just that they…Remind me of myself when I first got into politics. But enough about me. I hear there's a new book in the making?

Nate was almost skipping as he walked out of the office. He knew it was bad when several of his employees commented on how good of a mood he was in. He tried to conceal the grin on his face, but he couldn’t help it. Serena van der Woodsen (he preferred to call her by her maiden name, as it irritated him to see ‘Humphrey’ tacked on the end) was back in town and he had never needed a day off more in his life. He grabbed a taxi and was headed uptown in seconds. When the hulking shape of ‘The Empire’ came into his line of sight, his heart sped up. Chuck had been out of town, for various reasons, for the past year, more-or-less, and in his stead, had left The Empire in the care of his best friend. Although Nate spent most of his time at his townhouse closer to his office, the old apartment Chuck and him used to share now served another purpose. It was the meeting place him and Serena had been using for their secret trysts for the greater part of a year. No one had yet started to suspect a thing, seeing as how they were both good friends of Chuck’s. He waved to the doorman as he hopped on the elevator. 

The elevator doors slid open and he took a look around. Nothing was out of place, in fact, it looked the same as it always had. And Serena still wasn’t there. He sent her a quick text, letting her know that he had gotten there already. Nate walked over to the bar and poured Chuck’s favorite scotch into two separate glasses. He was in the process of putting the decanter back on the shelf when he heard the elevator doors sliding open. He turned back around with a half-smile on his face, “It’s about time.”
