💍 Julian, villain or vigilante him and hero or villain her, I'll let you pick the funnest vibe, as long as we can inflict them both with heart attacks 83
It wasn't supposed to happen. Not like this, not ever.
She stared at the ring on her finger - beautiful, considering the circumstances. How the fuck did a drunk man even pick a good ring on the spot ? She'd expected a ring pop or some stupid thing like that (under normal circumstances she'd have enjoyed the good laugh of a candy ring, but this was NOT funny right now), not this carved band, not this small rock. It almost felt purposeful, if not for the fact she knew it wasn't.
Because they were enemies.
She could see the headlines ... " Pro Hero The Warden drunk marries Villain The Raven in a whirlwind friday night romance ! ". This was so stupid - she didn't even like alcohol !! Why did she do that ?!
Looking at her new husband sleeping next to her, she frowned, pensive. Then smacked his stomach - not as painful as a punch, but startling enough.
" Get up. You better hope you have the money for a divorce. "
Because she sure doesn't.
Julian didn't often drink this much, but he wasn't totally unfamiliar with this horrible blocky feeling in his head, either.
In his miserable stupor, he was vaguely aware of another person near him. It was such a comforting presence, someone he was so happy to be near...
Then the smack, startling him awake. He gazed blearily at the light, trying to think through a brain fog denser than tungsten.
Divorce? What? Who?...
His eyes (both of them, his eyepatch was off) finally focused on the speaker.
...Oh. Warden. A disheveled, irate, devastatingly beautiful Warden.
The familiar mix of delight, despair, and professional rivalry he always felt upon seeing her was quickly replaced by further confusion and unease as her words really began to penetrate the fog.
"...Uhm, huwha?" he articulated brilliantly.
He held up his hand, noted the glint of gold on his finger, no gloves either, what state of undress was he even...
He sat up suddenly, taking stock of his clothes and body, filled with a horrible dread.
What if they'd made love and he'd missed it?!
Clothes, mostly intact. Neck, bruise-less. Any lipstick on his face? He couldn't tell. Did Warden even wear lipstick? He looked at her to verify if she had any smudged on her lips.
