Also I used to only consume Japanese yandere media (mostly drama CDs and mangas) until like 2021 and tried to explore western yandere stuff especially the visual novels BUT I always feel like they always water it down or make the yandere "too tame", maybe because I used to yandere being so unhinged and red flag in Japanese media I almost think that "is yandere definition different here??" because i gen disappointed lol
