These ladies have been the hands and feet and heart of Jesus and have invested into the emotional, spiritual and mental health of my kids and I. Photo dump #1 from last week’s visit from my parents! They arrived from Tulsa Friday afternoon in time to go with us to pick up the kids from school! And stayed through the next Thursday morning with a full, fun week in between! My dad helped Matt with house projects and my mom got to engage in our life here in Waco! Driving home today, my mom said, “stop the car! I want to see the castle!” So I pulled over, we jumped out and immediately saw someone else had the same idea. So we exchanged taking photos for each other! I’ve not seen the @fixer_upper_hgtv show, but Lily found information about the transformation this gorgeous castle enjoyed by Chip and Joanna Gaines this last year. It has quite the history and I hear it is so interesting and gorgeous inside! Christmas Eve service at @tulsafbc was so special seeing and hugging friends we love so much and enjoying this yearly tradition from the last 16 years with my parents. The best surprise was hearing Sue Wilson and @bruce.wilkin ‘s last performance of “Ring the Bells” after 22 years! I’m so grateful we got to hear it! See my stories to hear this beautiful woman of 72 years young serve and praise God with her incredible voice. And the joy you see and hear exudes from her all year long! First basketball game of the season in Waco, TX! Feels good to be back on the sidelines watching my boy back on the court! I had such a blast shooting my first session here in Waco on Baylor’s campus last week to celebrate this darling girl’s 16 birthday with her friends! We were racing against the sunset, but these girls did great, even after dark! They found some fun string lights outside the student union and I think those pics are some of my favorites! Have you ever experienced God’s love and tender care through the kindness and generosity of others? Yesterday, God swept into my home in the form of five beautiful angels led by our new Waco church friend, Vickie Thompson, to decorate #senoritalily’s room. They rearranged her furniture, brought in a shelf from the “back-room-hoarders-anonymous-abyss” (that is currently serving as garage storage after our move from Tulsa 3 months ago🙈🤦🏼‍♀️), and added a few new pretty things to spruce it up and give it a refresh. They even straightened her closet making room for her dresser to fit inside, giving her more floor space. I was blown away!

A horrible migraine the previous day left me disheveled and scatter brained, feeling unprepared when they arrived. Literally met them at the door in my jammies with bed-head hair, moving slowly and apologizing profusely for a dirty and messy house and appearance. Let me tell you, these ladies were so full of grace and joy and zero judgement as they lovingly embraced me while rearranging Lily’s furniture, organizing cubbies and closet contents, hanging pictures and curtains, and entering the “Caution! Hazard Zone!” back room to dig out a bookcase, sweeping up dust bunnies and long lost socks in the process. All the while reassuring me my home was normal.🥺😭

What in the world? 😱 God continues to demonstrate His love to us in such personal ways of which I feel so unworthy. Saying “no” to pride and embarrassment, and “yes” to grateful acceptance gave them the opportunity to minister and bless not just me, but my children! The joy on Lily’s face and the lesson learned from these women that serving others with your God-given gifts is the greatest fulfillment of our purpose in life. And brings us the greatest joy when sharing that gift generously with others.
