Alligators can sense when water is going to freeze so they’ll stick their noses up above the waterline and just freeze like that, going into a state similar to hibernation. Then the water thaws and they go about their business with no apparent injury. The same group of gators have made the news for doing this for the second year in a row. Gators are just like that.
I know most people are cowards don’t like the idea of giant carnivores that are close to human lives, but this is so cute.
Lil nose popping up.
this literally never happens bc florida doesnt get cold enough for water to freeze goddamnit
You’re right. I made it up, photoshopped the pictures, and planted fake news stories going back years. This is part of a larger conspiracy to convince people that there are other places in the world than just Florida. And I would have gotten away with it too if it wasn’t for y’all.

i love it when people say “must you?” both because it makes me feel like i’m in a period drama and because yes, i absolutely must
Hands down my favorite part of Night At The Museum is that it’s low key the plot of The Mummy (1999) but like, chill.
Like Rami Malek’s character isn’t like a mannequin come to life like the rest of them. He’s 100% a 3000 year old reanimated corpse. And everyone’s just fine with it.
He could just take the tablet and fully walk out of the museum and just live his life but he’s a bro and would rather be a glorified docent.
Thought this would be fun, but I guess I underestimated depression.
These were generated using Ganbreeder, you can check out what I’ve ended up with here, if you’d like: https://www.ganbreeder.app/twentyseven
The biggest burden of being disabled is not, in my opinion, the disability itself but, it is having to be disabled in a society that views disability as less than human.

I just wanted to note that if your character isn’t capable of being magically healed and they get injured
Show them being in pain
Hours after the fact
Days
Give them a wrist that clicks funny for months instead of a badass scar that only gets attention when the character needs to seem cooler
After slipping down a whopping three stairs yesterday morning, I feel like I got hit by a truck today and all I can think is, “my god, how do my characters get up and walk around like nothing happened after they get hurt” and then I answer myself with, “oh, unrealistic writing, that’s how.”
Also, people love reminders that characters got hurt. They aren’t annoying. I for one, take great delight in reminders of my favorite character’s suffering

Spoonie tip of the day
There will be people who always don’t get it. Don’t get why you can’t hold a job or go to the grocery store or leave the house, or even get out of bed. These people don’t matter. You need to try and be true to yourself vs other people’s opinion on your health.
my library’s hoopla app is rescuing my gay ass from the movie industry’s choices re: not releasing lesbian movies in theaters ANYWHERE near me, thank g-d. hoopla was the only way i was able to see the Miseducation of Cameron Post adaptation and i just found Hearts Beat Loud on it too!!!!
I had never even HEARD of this app but I just pulled it up and???? They have Cary Grant movies on here! And Emma! And North Avenue Irregulars! All those weird live-action Disney movies from the 60s! 13 Going on 30!
And that’s just the movies!
What in the world????
in further updates there’s an entire section devoted to Agatha Christie an Masterpiece Theater GOODBYE LIFE
as long as i’m helping people discover the wonders of hoopla, i would love to share with everyone that:
they also have comics (a few i love for example: Giant Days, Motor Crush, Monstress, and more)
and music (i use it a lot to listen to the soundtrack to movie musicals i don’t own like Mama Mia 2 and The Greatest Showman)
and Great Courses lecture series as video or audio (i highly recommend their series on the Dead Sea Scrolls)
in addition to having ebooks and audiobooks.
if you have access to a library that offers hoopla, set up your account and take advantage of it.
