Kieran had played this game one too many times. He had done this way more than he could count. He knew what she was trying to do and he wasn’t going to fall into her trap. He wasn’t going to let her win, make a fool out of himself in the end of whatever situation this was. Was she gorgeous? Hell yeah. He laughed at her words, rolling his eyes and his tongue running over his lips to wet them. “You’re gorgeous, I am looking at you. You know what else? There are a ton of other gorgeous girls on campus. What makes you so special, huh?”

“Yes, but you have to admit it. I’m probably the most gorgeous person you’ve seen. And who cares about the others if I’m reigning on top?” she mused. Of course, Madison didn’t think she was the most attractive woman at the university, but confidence was something she liked to exert. Especially in front of men like him. “Well, I reckon I’m the only gorgeous girl on campus you haven’t slept with. Am I right? You seem like the type to get around.”

“Anybody would be lucky, really. Don’t sell yourself short, sweetheart,” Dawson drawled out, chuckling lowly at her feigned enthusiasm. A lone brow raised in her direction as he let his gaze freely roam down her body, “I think excitement might be the only thing that doesn’t look good on you. You seem to give off that whole ‘don’t fuck with me’ vibe that tends to attract guys like me– but I’m bad news. You should definitely stay far, far away.”

Madison’s glare lessened, and was replaced with a sincere smile of gratitude at his assumed compliment. “Oh, I do? Well, that’s good to know. I guess it’ll make the weaklings run.” she laughed. “You’re bad news? How so? And you know, you’re just making me more curious... therefore I think I might stick around you.”

“Aw, c’mon, sweetheart,” Dawson drawled out, a smirk curling on the corners of his lips as he crossed his arms over his broad chest, leaning his shoulder against the side of the creaky carnival game, “I heard that if you don’t look excited to be here, you’ll attract the horny freshmen looking to get laid by the sexy upperclassmen running these rigged games– just so you know. Wouldn’t want you to get blindsided by all the pledges trying to get in your panties tonight.”

“A pledge would be so lucky,” she replied, with a scoff. Pressing the palms of her hands against the counter, the blonde leaned forward towards Dawson. With a forced smile, she gestured to her face. “Does this look like I’m excited? Because I’m super duper excited!” she exclaimed, with feigned enthusiasm that she would only possess if a new outfit was presented to Madison.

The fact that she was still standing there and engaging in a conversation with him just had him somewhat confused. Not that he wasn’t enjoying everything that was going on and seeing how she was reacting to everything just made it better. He snapped his fingers to the next guy to take his shift and stepped to the side. “And yet you’re still here,” he pointed out and crossed his arms over his chest as he stepped away from the booth. “So, tell me…” He trailed off before turning around to look at her once more. “If you didn’t want anything and if you don’t want anything now – what’s with the attitude? You’re acting as if you’re in high school and your ex boyfriend is taking your best friend to prom.”

Madison wasn’t stupid, and she didn’t think that standing in front of the other all this time would result in anything other than a minor blip on her timeline. She would not remember the kiss, she would not remember the weather, she would not remember him. She would remember the want to play with his mind ... and the failure, if it happened. Although, she was determined it wouldn’t. “So, you have no interest in kissing me again?” she questioned, disregarding his words. She was sure they weren’t important anyway. “I find that hard to believe. Look at me.”

Kieran was enjoying this. Sure, he had gone back and forth with a few women from time to time, but it was usually a drunken thing and they ended up in a bedroom or a bathroom only a few minutes later. This was different and he found it amusing and ten times better than the other times. “Why would I have to prove that to you? I’ve pleased many women before. A lot came back to try and get a second or third round. I don’t have to try and please you if you wanted to wait for someone else. By all means… go right ahead.” He had a smug smirk on his lips. It didn’t bother him. He knew that he was good at what he did and how she reacted when they kissed, she was fucking with him and he knew it. Quirking an eyebrow, he looked at her and then the next girl in line. As she stepped forward, Keiran kissed her like he had done to the blonde earlier. Letting it linger just a bit longer before pulling away and seeing the girl in front of him flustered. “You didn’t want a peck, darlin’,” he told Madison, turning his head to look at her once again.

Madison was getting bored, although he infuriated her enough to make her continue standing her ground in front of possibly the worst place on Earth. If people ended up believing that she was some overly jealous girlfriend standing guard on her boyfriend, she might actually start swinging — she supposed standing next to the booth with a sour attitude only aggravated the situation. “You’re so very typical of a frat guy, you know that? If they were to make another stupid mindnumbingly movie about sororities, you should really audition.” she replied, or more so scoffed. “I didn’t want anything.”

Quinn beamed as she walked around the carnival and looked around to see friends or something to do. She smiled and waved at a few people before spotting someone she knew. “Hey, you!” She beamed.

“Sports aren’t fun, what kind of nerd are you?” Anna wrinkled her nose, groaning. “Do I have to? You know how much I hate dealing with people. It was just a day, I’ve been keeping an eye on Ayla in the dunk tank.”

“The nerd that likes to have fun every once in awhile, sweetie.” Madison laughed. “Yes you do. Wait, there’s a dunk tank? Please tell me some of the douchey boys are participating, I’d love to get them wet.” A pause. “Dunk them, I mean.”

“I don’t think – I know,” Kieran said confidently. His father always brought him up to think and believe certain things it just so happened that they weren’t always the best. He knew that he was full of himself half – more than half of the time, but he couldn’t help it. He couldn’t help but laugh with her asking him to go with her. He glance behind her at the other girls once more. “Coming from the girl who said she wasn’t satisfied,” he retorted and stepped to the side, knowing he had to keep the line going. He gave the girl behind the blonde a quick peck before sending her on her way. “Don’t you want to wait for the next guy? That is what you wanted, isn’t it?”

Madison rolled her eyes, followed by a scoff at his overly confident attitude towards his appearance. If she wasn’t so fixated on playing him at his own game, she would left at this moment. Unfortunately, the blonde was too competitive for such maturity. “I just thought maybe you’d want to redeem yourself. Prove that you can actually satisfy a girl.” she said, watching as his lips collided — or rather, momentarily brushed another. “Why didn’t I get a peck?” It would have been things so much easier.

“Never let that die.” He chuckled as he crossed his arms. “I do, but I feel like she’d want to be behind the camera, not in front of it, you know? She’s more into taking the picture, but I can ask her when I see her later on tonight.” He shrugged and laughed again. “I’m more west end than down south, love.” He said as he took out his wallet and a couple of bucks as he just ordered a water. Paying for it he handed her the hot dog. “I would say something here, but I’ll keep the dirty thought to myself.”

“I won’t, it’s something that I believe gives me character,” she teased, followed by a chuckle of her own. “Ah, so she’s a photographer? That’s interesting. Well, I need a photographer too, so I might have to inquire about her services,” She smiled, before taking a bite of her hot dog. “You shouldn’t be having dirty thoughts, mister. You have a girlfriend. Are you not getting food? Get food with me, or at least have a bite of my wiener.”

“Tin-Tin, I’m dying over here. You really know how to work us out,” Madison exclaimed as she lay down onto her bed, throwing her pom poms to one side. The blonde sighed, and closed her eyes briefly — wishing she could sleep. Instead, she smiled and remembered the idea she had which involved her friend. If there was anything that gave her energy, it was when her creativity decided to spark. “So, I wanted to ask you if you’d consider helping me with a fashion project. I need you to wear a dress and be my mermaid.” she paused. “Well, Ariel from Disney.”

“I just passed through your house and it actually smelled decent. A house full of boys smells nice... what kind of heaven is this?” Madison said, as she barged into his room. Without waiting for permission, she flopped onto his bed with her head buried into the fabric of the pillow. “Dude, what am I going to do? There’s so many cute guys here, but they’re all so... experienced.” If she hadn’t already made it obvious that she needed to talk, she hoped by her next sentence he’d realise she needed him. “I can trust you with anything, right? ... I need to tell you something,” she said, finally sitting up and turning around to face Kael. She hadn’t known him long, but she needed a male’s perspective on her issue — possibly some reassurance as well that she wouldn’t be turned away from every guy that knew the truth.

“Thank you so much for offering to help out,” Madison told the other blonde with a smile. “I’m eternally grateful. Now I was thinking about making some sort of fairy tale princess dress, but with a modern twist. I’m a Disney nut, so I’m basing them off princesses from the franchise, and I want you to be my Cinderella. So I’m thinking light blue corset, with ruffles that kind of look like tattered pieces of material. I want it to look like the fabric’s tearing because the clock struck midnight and the dress is disappearing, does that make sense?” she rambled on, pausing momentarily to breathe.

“Don’t be ridiculous, I don’t puke– not since that time sophomore year that I thought shake shack and vodka milkshakes were a good idea at least.” She pulled a face, “God remember that– it was awful, I think that night really cemented our friendship.” Her offer had more laughter from her, if Fox was anything, she was definitely a giggly drunk. “I’ve never wanted a piggy back from someone more in my life, cowboy take me away.”

“I remember that, I was only a freshman and I thought you were going to die! You’re lucky I was there, and to be honest, you’re right... it was the start of an amazing friendship, and secrets that will never go beyond the walls of that bathroom.” she laughed. With an obviously dramatic sigh, she crouched in front of Fox and got herself into position. “If you start telling him to giddy up, I will drop you in that bush and everyone will laugh. Okay?” Madison smiled.
