Youngest child born to the Ford family.
Suffers from a lot of anxiety, but is still the sweetest and most helpful girl you'll ever meet.
Didn't talk much in school, was too focused on making sure that she was doing everything right.
Was a big rollerskating person.
Tried out for cheerleading but got too scared learning the tricks and quit.
Discovered she liked both girls and boys in high school with the help of Heather Jones.
Has never had a serious relationship, only a couple causal bfs/gfs.
Big pet person.
Has never had a clean bedroom in her entire life.
Bought her home in Horwick two years ago with the help of her parents and she is very grateful to them for it.
Natural born baker and wouldn't give up her job at Giovannis for anything.
On days when the sun shined bright, that was when Kenna was at her best.
It was a brisk 40 degree day, but the sun was greeting her hello and she wasn’t going to ignore it. She had all the curtains in her home pulled open to let its light shined through as she got to work on a personal order of baked goods.
The kitchen mixer stand spun at its high speed and the blonde happily danced around her kitchen as she prepared the freshly baked cinnamon rolls to be packaged up. Moving from the kitchen to the entryway of her home where she slid on her sneakers and sunglasses, ready to head out to her friends home to drop the order and continue about her day.
It didn’t take long to get there, she was already familiar with the path there. Having visited them often, she was excited to return and find out what they had been up to the past few days.
“I’m here!” She called out in her usual chipper tone, pushing the door open slightly to make sure she wasn’t intruding on anything as she entered the home without knocking. She knew they already knew she was on her way and figured she’d deliver the goods directly to their kitchen.
Kenna slipped her sneakers off at the door and walked to the closest kitchen counter, setting the perfectly packaged white box down and looking around to see if she could spot her friend anywhere in the nearby rooms.
“Hey, are you home?” She called out to them again, feeling a bit confused now to where they could be.
Figuring that they must have had to run out, Kenna shrugged her shoulders and started to head back towards the door to put her shoes back on and head out. Thinking that she would just send them a text that their order had been delivered.
But something in the corner of the entryway caught her eye.
She grew a puzzled look and went over to the item laying upside down on the floor. Once she arrived at it, she saw it was only a lone shoe. She laughed at herself for being so nosey and picked up the shoe to place it back with all of the other ones near the door.
That’s when she saw it.
The inside of the sole was red. Blood red.
She turned the shoe very slowly in her hand to its side where more blood stains were covering the bottom half of it. She could feel her heartbeat start to quicken and she stood there stuck in a shocked state.
It wasn’t until a voice from behind her rang out that she snapped from her inner thoughts and the shoe dropped from her hands.
Her eyes looked down at the shoe then to the person she thought was her friend and back again to the bloodied shoe. "I-" Was all that she could get out before she was struck in the back of her head. Her hand flying up as she went falling down next to the blooded item.
She felt dizzy and disoriented straight away, the room spinning around her as she tried to look to them.
How could they do this to her?
She turned her head from where she was on the floor, tears already streaming down her face as she began to realize her deepest fears were coming true. One of her nearest and dearest friends was the Shadow.
“Wait!” She threw her hand up, trying to stop them from hurting her again. If she could just talk them out of this and get out of there, she could end all of this and the town could be free. Reaching into her back pocket, Kenna pulled her phone out. All she had to do was hit the emergency SOS. But before she could even turn the screen on, their shoe was pressing down on her hand and kicked the phone away from her.
That’s when the second blow hit the side of her face.
She groaned in pain, trying to cover the injury to her head with her hands when she was pulled up by her hair. Mckenna screamed out, begging and pleading with them for her life. Her screams turned into chokes as she felt the warmth of her own blood start to run down her throat and begin to pool underneath her. Her face dropped down into it.
As her vision faded in and out, all she can think about is the memories she was leaving with others. The moments in life she would never get to have.
All the words left unsaid. The laughing fits at 2am with Kit, the chance at raising her kids alongside Charlies, getting to grow old with Lakeyn. Oh, how she longed to grow old.
Her fingers stretch as far as they could go, hitting just the edge of her phone. The blood on her hand smeared across the screen, she tries one last time to pull it towards her and call again for help. The voice inside her head screaming at her to call for help. Her fingers connect and she hits the screen in hopes of hitting the redial for anyone on her call log.
Slowly her eyes close as the last remaining energy drains from her body. She hears a voice faintly on the other end of her phone. The smallest of smiles appear on her face as the rest of the world fades out. ‘I’m saved’ she thinks before letting the darkness consume her entirely.
He lay there quietly for a moment as he thought it over. He could try and explain to Brielle but part of him felt as though it was a pointless task that would only cause him to get hurt and that's what he didn't want. "I don't know... I guess we will see how I feel about it." He attempted to shrug off, "do I not look happy to you?" He looked at her with a wide smile, "I get to sleep with plenty of hot women, I'm a happy chappy." He joked before he listened to her talk, "well if you're having fun then I'm okay with that.. I just want you to be happy, Kenna. If fucking around keeps your head clear then so be it, I get it.. I'm a guy that fucks around for fun too. No judgements here." He smiled, "well I know you had a nice little nap but I'm actually sleepy so are you joining me?"
She rolled her eyes at him, "You are the most annoying person I've ever met." Part of Kenna really meant it to, even though she knew he'd always be her best friend. "Yeah.. I guess. But, I'd give it all up for her." She admitted to him. "Yeah, but I'm tired of being the big spoon. I wanna be the little spoon for once." She turned around, pulling his arm over her. "Move back a little, I don't wanna feel that thing against me. Weirds me out." She adjusted her pillow and laid back down on it, closing her eyes to fall back to sleep.
Lakeyn let out a soft laugh. "What can I say, I like living on the dangerous side." Lakeyn wouldn’t admit it, and probably not for a while, but this had her really freaked out. She was one to just push the trauma down and ignore it. Lakeyn listened to her speak. She also missed Kenna. She really did but she didn't know how to tell her before this. Not just missing her as a friend but that part of her always felt like there was something missing from her life. "I miss you too Kenny... a lot." She admitted. "Do you wanna sit up here?" She questioned as she scotched over to make some room. "What do you want to do about the missing each other dilemma because I say if we are together we can miss each other so we should probably just like, not leave each other's sides, you know?"
Kenna took the invitation to join her up on the bed and crawled in beside her. Resting her head against Lakeyns while they continued her conversation. "You know, that's very true. I guess we are gonna have to become stuck together." She had a small smile on her lips, the idea of spending all her time with the other brought real joy to her. The kind she hadn't felt in a while. She wanted to be there for Lakeyn right now, while she was hurt and long after that. "I'm sorry I gave up." She said in reference to what they used to be. "But my feelings for you have never changed. If you never want to tell anyone about us, I'd be okay with that. As long as I'm with you, I'd be okay with anything."
"Yeah, I have no idea why." He exhaled loudly as he thought about the whole situation and the night it happened. He was young and thought about it often now that he was back living in Hidehill full time, bumping into his ex definitely didn't help that either. "I she really going to believe me though?" He asked knowing what the answer would probably be. "My track record now isn't exactly clean so I doubt it" he added. "I'd love to make it right but I don't think my ego can take being rejected by her" he laughed slightly before looking over at her. "I think she might be" he smiled sweetly at her before his face screwed up at what followed. "Connor Stokes?"
She felt bad for him. It was rare that anyone in town ever felt bad for Charlie but as she laid there listening to him, she couldn't help but hurt from his own pain. "It's never too late to try. I'd love to see you happy, Charlie. You should try." She looked at him, "Then you can be with her, and I'll be with Lakeyn, and we can move far away and raise our kids as neighbors and watch each other grow old and ugly far away from all of this." She half joked with him, not thinking it was such a bad idea after all. "Yeah, I've been hooking up with him or whatever people are calling it now. He's been... a nice escape from things." Mckenna never tried to hide any of her anxieties from Charlie, she had always been open about it. "Sometimes just being with someone helps when I get all, you know, in my head about shit."
Lakeyn nodded. "Don't worry. I'm great. You should see the other guy." She said with a small laugh. Lakeyns eyes lingered at McKennas facial expressions, she cared. That was one thing Lakeyn had thought about while she was taken. Would anyone truly care she was hurt the way they did for the others. But in this moment she could tell McKenna really did. And maybe she was stupid for not taking a risk with her parents so she could be with her. They were so young though, no one could really know if they would have worked out. "It's okay. I'm not, you know, so that's a plus, I guess." she said softly. "Now I just have to wait for these idiots to let me out and then dead with my parents who sadly god word of the situation."
She pulled up a seat beside the bed, making herself comfortable in the chair while they talked. A small smile couldn't help but appear across her face. "You are always doing something to keep me on my toes. You just can't help yourself, can you?" She teased the other blonde. Mckenna couldn't imagine a life without Lakeyn, it was hard enough not to be with her how they used to be. "Hey, Lake? I know it's not a great time but.. this whole thing really scared me and if something had happened to you before I could tell you this, I'd never forgive myself." She finally gave into the urge and softly reached for her hand, looking back to her. "I miss you.. I miss you all the time and I don't want to miss you anymore."
Charlie looked up at the ceiling as she let out a deep sigh. Apparently he was feeling open and honest today so he may as well go all out.. it was Kenna after all. "You promise not to tell anybody any of this right?" He turned his face to look at her for a moment as he looked for some indication that she wouldn't. "I never cheated on her" he admitted before looking back at the ceiling and swallowing what felt like a lump in his throat. "I was young, Kenna. I have no idea what happened but her dad was like threatening me one day out of the blue, he thought I wasn't good enough for her and told me to call it off. I told her I cheated so she didn't ask any more questions." He shrugged his shoulders at the whole topic before quickly moving on. "You're too kind of a person and way too pretty to be a loner.. maybe she was your right person wrong time? Soulmates doesn't mean easy I don't think."
Kenna nodded her head, of course she wouldn't tell anybody. Charlie was family and she would never do anything to betray that. "So.." She started, taking in everything he had just admitted to. "He threatened you? Damn Chuck... why haven't you told her that? I mean, you guys aren't kids anymore. Don't you want to make that right if you feel the way you do about her?" It hurt to hear that Charlie had lost her to reasons out of his grasp. He didn't have a good track record with any women that she could think of, but sudden it was starting to make sense. "You think she could ever be my right person right time?" She moved the blanket so it was covering her more. "I should probably stop seeing Connor before I think about any of this though, huh."
Mckenna was somebody Charlie looked at as family, she was on the same level as Dylan for him. She was like a sister and if there was anybody in this town who could make him see sense it would be Dylan, Mckenna and probably still Brielle if he was completely honest with himself. Mckenna was his ride or die. Anything she wanted he would do for her. "Soulmates?" He repeated with a laugh before taking a moment to think about it. "Yeah I do actually" he admitted before clearing his throat, "this shit doesn't leave this bed alright?" He laughed as he looked at her. "I think my soul mate was Brielle." It felt strange for him to say out loud but if anyone was going to understand him it would be her. "What about you?"
"What the hell, man?" The answer had caught her attention more than she had expected it to and caused her to pick her head up to look at him better. Kenna knew all about Charlie and his exes, every time he fucked up and every time he tried to make it better. "Brielle? Charlie, why would you fuck things up with her if you think she's your soulmate?" She couldn't wrap her head around any of it. The blonde relaxed back into the bed and looked up at the ceiling overhead them. "I don't know if I have a soulmate. Might be destined to never grow old with someone." She admitted, "I mean, you remember when I was with Lakeyn right? She was great and I miss her like crazy everyday but I don't know if we are soulmates because isn't the point of being soulmates mean being together is easy?"
it was ridiculous of her to think having sex with the other could change anything. in that moment, he had been attracted to her, it was he who had led her to the bathroom and she'd enjoyed it - now, he was denying it and making her out to be some sort of obsessed liar. her mental state wasn't stable and her reality being challenged was making her question herself. "you know, i thought if i had sex with him things would get better between us." old habits died hard and it had been a pattern with her ex before she finally managed to get out of that relationship - charlie reminded her of him. "we both enjoyed ourselves, as far as i could tell but now it's become a question of my character. it always ends up like that and i'm really tired of it." the gaslighting was nothing new, she'd experienced plenty of it but this was a time where she was trying to fight it. "i don't want people here to hate me. i've had enough of that in the past."
She listened intently to everything Emmeline had to say in this moment. Kenna didn't want to miss anything, she wanted to make sure that she felt heard right now. "I'm sorry you are going through this." She picked up one of the cookies on the plate she had brought the other and snapped off a small piece to put in her mouth. "Charlie is a complicated person.." She paused, "He's an ass, actually. He doesn't really connect with many people and between you and me, I think he acts like this to protect himself from having to connect with others." As she finished chewing, she sighed. "I don't hate you, you can always have me as someone to turn to."
"You'd high five me and everything?" Charlie laughed as he shook his head at the stupidity of it all. "I'm joking, I'm joking. The maid already cleaned all my sheets for me after I left this morning. They were nice and fresh until you came in here and decided to take a nap in my bed, i hope you didn't dribble on the pillow." He pulled the sheets over him as he shifted down into the bed more, he held out his arm and tilted his head to gesture to her to move in closer. "I haven't got any plans today so whatever you want to do we can do."
"I'd high five you, high five her." She laughed, pulling the blanket with her as she moved in closer to him on the bed. There was no one else in town that Mckenna was more thankful to have in her life than Charlie. He was really the one that was always holding her together. He was her person, no matter how much of an ass he really was to other people. "Great, we can spend the whole night discussing lifes biggest and deepest questions then. Like, do you think soulmates exist and what is the true meaning of life?" Although part of her was joking, she was actually curious to hear his answers on it.
"Now what would you have done if I was walking in here with a woman?" Charlie raised an eyebrow as he walked over to his walk in wardrobe to slip into something more comfortable than what he had on now. Take off his watch and jewellery and placing them in the neatly laid out drawers he returned to his bad and hopped on beside her. "You know.. I'm not sure these sheets are clean from the girl I brought back last night.." he teased before looking over and smiling at his best friend.
"I would have moved over, there's enough room for you to do your thing while I continue my nap." She joked with him, though the thought hadn't really occurred to her until just now. Knowing that she'd feel gross for months if she ever had to see Charlie doing anything of the sort. "Charlie, that is truly disgusting." She made a face at him, "But I'm too tired to move so, I'm going to pretend these sheets just came clean out of the washer." She turned her head on the pillow, so she was looking at him again. "Do you have any big plans tonight?"
Hearing the doorhandle move a bit, Lakeyn turned over, her back now facing the door. There was a hesitation of it opening though. The blond was not sure who would walk in that door but she was not in the mood for pity visits. For people to flock her way just because she got hurt. She didn't want to be seen in that bad as weak. BUt the door open and she instantly recognized the voice, McKenna. Lakeyn turned back over and sat up in the bed. "Kenny" She said with a soft smile, instantly feeling better. Though she was not sure how anyone seeing her would feel. Her face was badly bruised, she had a badge on the left corner of her forehead when she had a gash. "What's up?" She questioned, trying to act casual, even though on the inside she was dying in pain.
The air inside the room felt tighter than Kenna expected, seeing Lakeyn laying there hurt made her chest ache inside of her. "I heard about... I wanted to come see if you were okay." She moved closer to the bedside, resisting the urge to reach out and hold her hand. "I was scared when I saw your name on the news. I thought that you were.. it doesn't matter, I was just scared." Her feelings for the other blonde weren't as complicated as Kenna made them out to be, but still standing there she felt like they were both still miles away from each other.
emmeline had never actually gone there for treats. mckenna was someone who symbolised a safe space for her, a certain type of positivity and understanding without turning on others. even when the bakery had been vandalised, the other had still invited her in. "anything." it wasn't the most polite response imaginable but the woman wasn't able to process much when she got into a state like this. she quickly moved to take a seat but was restless. everything was crumbling around her and there was no miyeon to help her. "i'm not a liar, i'm not, i'm not."
Kenna felt pity for this woman, for she was condemned by everyone in the town before she was even proven guilty. "I know." She spoke softly, moving around behind the display case of treats to pick a few out. She took the plate piled with a couple different cookies and a still warm brownie, bringing it over to where she was sitting and set it down in front of her. "I believe you; you don't have to defend yourself to me." The blonde took the seat across from her. "Charlie is... complicated." She was willing to admit the truth about her friend.

Kenna was comfortably snuggled up under the blankets of Charlies bed, waking up from the nap she had decided to take when she noticed her best friend wasn't home. Just as she was about to reach for her phone next to her, the bedroom swung open. "Oh, hey." She glanced over at him. "Your people let me in and you weren't here, so I helped myself." Her hands smushed down the blanket so she could see him better, "Girls definitely come home with you just to sleep in the bed, this bitch is comfy."
Connor recognized this habit, one his stomach was always in favor of but it meant something was on her mind. “Too much? You would never.” He teased, laughing a bit as he reached for a churro. “You made all of this just for me?” He knew it wasn’t the case, Kenna couldn’t stop herself until her emotions settled and he was there for the ride. The man wasn’t going to call attention to it, not until she was ready. “We’re probably going to need a movie marathon to get through it all though.”
Kenna sighed and reached over to grab one of the cookies, breaking it in half and putting one of the halves in her mouth. "I probably should have stopped after the second or third dessert." She looked over all the baked goods laying across her kitchen again. One of Kennas favorite things about Connor was that he never seemed to judge her. "Would it sound better if I said yes, I did make all of this for you?" She looked over at him, her face reading clear as day that she was going through a lot at the moment. "It's going to take a lot of movies to get through all of this."

Kenna stood outside of Lakeyns hospital room, her hand on the handle to the door. The last time she had seen her, they kissed and hadn't talked about it since. Did Lakeyn want her to be there? She was riddled with questions on whether or not she should go in. There was nothing more she wanted than to be there for her right now, but her anxiety was always getting the best of her. Finally giving in and pushing the door open. She peaked her head inside and then let the rest of herself enter through the doorway. "Hey, Lake? You awake?"
