THEY LITERALLY HAD ONLY HAD BACKGROUND SCENES, ONE SCENE WHERE THEY FLIRTED, AND THEN SUDDENLY THEY WERE CUDDLING ON THE COUCH IN THE STUDENT LOUNGE AS THEY ANNOUNCED THEY WERE DROPPING OUT OF THE RACE! NO KISS! NOT A SHRED OF DEVELOPMENT ON SCREEN OR OFF! ALL WE GOT WE’RE THE 3 TINY PLOTS IN THE FUCKING TIE IN COMICS! THE REST OF IT WAS ALL FUCKING HEADCANONS! THEY MIGHT AS WELL HAVE NOT BEEN TOGETHER SINCE THEY HAD NO BUILD UP, DEVELOPMENT, OR SCREEN TIME! THE ONE SCENE THAT HAD POTENTIAL WAS CUT! THEN COME TO FIND OUT THEY BROKE UP AND SHE HAD A SUMMER FLING THAT SHE ENDED BECAUSE SHE WANTS TO FOCUS ON MUSIC! NEWS FLASH USING THE “I’M AN INDEPENDENT BLACK WOMAN WHO DON’T NEED NO MAN” TROPE AS AN EXCUSE TO NOT GIVE JOSIE A LOVE INTEREST IS RACISM AND MISOGYNIOR AT IT’S PEAK! EVERY OTHER GIRL WHO’S A REGULAR HAS MAINTAINED THEIR STATUS AS INDEPENDENT EVEN THOUGH THEY’RE ATTACHED AT THE HIP TO THEIR S/O! BUT JOSIE CAN’T WORK ON MUSIC AND HAVE A BOYFRIEND? THAT’S A FUCKING WILD CONCEPT? RONNIE OUT HERE RUNNING TWO BUSINESSES AND BETTY OUT HERE BEING A DETECTIVE YET THEY STILL CAN HAVE RELATIONSHIPS! CHUCK, REGGIE, AND SWEET PEA ALL DROPPED TO UPHOLD A TROPE THAT’S RACIST AND TRY DISGUISE IT AS SOME “FEMINIST UWU” BULLSHIT! LET JOSIE BE LOVED AND LOVE ON SCREEN! you know it’s bad when i’ve wondered back into the mcmantle tag because I’m starved over josie x sweet pea. MCMANTLE??? I’M STARVED SO I GO BACK TO MCMANTLE???? the ship that got ZERO BUILD UP OR EFFORT but at least gave me bread crumbs. this just shows you how BELOW ZERO they have given Josie and Sweet Pea… I just want Josie to be loved. And happy. And singing with her girls!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE JOSIE X PUSSYCATS STORYLINES WE WERE PROMISED THIS SEASON??!?!?! they can give us parentdale and archie in jail and a real-life D&D and a cult in one half of a season but they can’t give us the Pussycats storyline WE WERE PROMISED?????? I’m ranting. I know. It’s because I’m searching the McMantle tag and I’m upset about this shit-show all over again. 

TLDR: Josie McCoy and the Pussycats deserve BETTER. I’m sick of this shit.

Call me bitter but when Varchie and Bughead break up we see the effects and see it talked about but Mcmantle breaks up but we can’t even get an interaction between them that don’t involve the core fours’ plot.
