I was not raised in quiet places.

I learned young

that chaos has a language,

and survival answers back.

You mistake your shadow

for something that can swallow me.

It can't.

I've stood in storms

that knew my name.

I've buried softer versions of myself

and built homes

from the splinters they left behind.

Fear?

You arrived far too late

to introduce me to it.

You circle.

You watch.

You hope I'll shrink,

that I'll flinch,

that I'll trade my voice

for the comfort of silence.

But I have already survived

the kind of darkness

that doesn't announce itself.

You are an echo,

not an earthquake.

Every attempt to haunt me

only proves

you've mistaken persistence

for power.

I do not scare easy anymore.

I learned how to take tragedy

and forge it into steel,

how to stitch broken things

into wings,

how to make ashes

look embarrassingly like sunrise.

So if fear

is the message you're trying to send,

know this:

It returned unopened.

I am still here.

Still standing.

Still becoming.

And every step I take forward

is one you'll never own.
