it’s a warm enough greeting that wanda chances a hug, squeezing hope tight for a moment. and the answer makes her hold on for a moment longer, too. “ it’s…it’s a dangerous idea, i’ll give you that much. ” wanda still hasn’t put her finger on what about this idea unsettles her the most, but there’s something. “ to be fair, krakoa is – different. as i understand it, not just anyone can get there. that’s a certain amount of protection. – my father seems to believe there’s no other course of action. ”
hope accepts and returns wanda’s hug. it’s a warm embrace that makes her feel at home, even if just for a few seconds. “i’m sure you know more about krakoa than i do wanda, so i’ll take your word for it. but i can’t guarantee i won’t be on my guard.” she gives a half-smile. while her mind travels to the armory she has hidden in her closet. she always had access to the powers of mutants around her but she didn’t want to count on that if an emergency came into play. “magneto’s always right, huh?”
His fingers pull the visor off of his face, eyes closed to keep the optic blasts under control while reaching for the sunglasses in front of him. He puts the eye-ware taken off away somewhere safe, not needing it right now. The rest of Scott’s uniform stays on though as his attention turns to who walked in. “I’m sorry — I’ve been distracted today it seems. How long have you been standing there?”
hope’s walking past the room when she spots scott -- her grandfather, technically -- returned and still in uniform. she stops to say something but she decides she doesn’t want to disturb him. she’s about to turn and leave when she realizes he’s noticed her. “oh -- i didn’t mean to bother you.”
truthfully, wanda isn’t all too certain about the nature of her relationship with hope. she knows that she has a certain fondness for the girl, regardless of tense beginnings. after all, wanda can’t let tense beginnings stop her from caring. she’d like to think she has at least a handful of mutant friends, even after some very tense beginnings. so uncertain or not, wanda is happy to see hope, and her face lights up in greeting. “ i was thinking about you just the other day, ” she says in lieu of a more normal hello. “ i wanted to ask how you were doing, if you were enjoying krakoa. ”
a smile forms on hope’s face after she spots wanda coming towars her. the two had suffered a rocky start but hope had begun to feel closer to her than most of the people she had met in the present, including her own grandfather. “wanda, it’s good to see you.” her smile falters as she considers the question. “if i’m being honest, i’m a little on edge. i can’t help but remember what happened with utopia and of the stories i’ve heard about genosha. it seems like mutant paradises always suffer eventually.”

hope was the first mutant born after the decimation, aka wanda saying “no more mutants” resulting in the majority of mutantkind loosing their powers.
this was obviously a big deal and when she was born her psychic signature cause cerebra to blow up. this plot line is never developed further and was pretty much used to make her seem like jean grey reincarnated.
she was the daughter of captain louise spalding, a fire chief and an unknown father. her mother was killed when the purifiers attacked the hospital shortly after her birth. they intended to kill hope but she was saved by her would be adoptive father, nathan summers.
while hope summers was born only a few months/years ago, she is biologically eighteen. this is due to the fact that she was raised in the future, on the run from a time travelling mutant named bishop who believed killing her would prevent his future.
hope wasn’t given a name until a few years after her birth. her father nathan settled down with a woman named hope who was later killed, hope was named in her honor.
hope and nathan spent most of her childhood time jumping through the future while in pursuit of bishop. during this time nathan trained her in surviving various post-apocalyptic wastelands.
bishop was eventually sent into the far future, his time device destroyed, allowing for hope and nathan to return to the present.
hope’s return caused the appeared of five new mutants who seemed to have a strange connection to hope.
hope’s power is eventually reveled to be power mimicry. this works in a proximity basis and does not require contact. hope can only mimic powers of mutants and is able to mimic multiple at once.
hope was being constantly trained by cyclops which frustrated her as it seemed he was preparing her for something but refused to tell her what. after exhibiting phoenix-like powers, she discovered the phoenix force was coming to earth and it was in search of her.
this caused a gigantic fight between the avengers and xmen over who should be in charge of hope.
tony stark created a device which he thought would destroy the phoenix force but only divided it between, illyana, namor, emma, scott and piotr.
hope joined wanda maximoff in fighting to stop the phoenix five and it eventually resulted in hope possessed by the phoenix force. wanda kept her grounded and together they destroyed the phoenix force in what they thought was for good.
post avx hope decided to live a normal life for literally the first time ever. this lasted about four weeks before she stuck her nose into other people's business and eventually joined nathan’s x-force.
currently hope lives in krakoa, helping charles and erik with their goal.
aha, if you read all this i appreciate you. hope is a member of the summers family which is super complicated but basically hope is the adopted daughter of nathan summers. nathan summers is the child of scott summers and madelyne pryor, a clone of jean grey.
