one of the ‘paralels’ between ekko and jinx i’ve seen people point out is those chair-sitting screencaps and tbh i thought it’s just a coincidence. like, its just them sitting on a chair to me lmao.

but now that i look closer….

in ekko’s screencap, you can see these white beams drawn behind him, surrounding him and spanning out, kind of like a halo. Like light. Like a firelight.

in jinx’s screencap, look closer and you’ll see these dark feather-like things fanning out around her own chair in the same radiating fashion.

reminds me of a certain bridge fight scene…

some also pointed out how ekko is placed in front of a bright light during the majority of the scene, the glow shining behind him also like a halo. jinx on the other hand is surrounded by darkness. just like in those chair screencaps

it’s not just during the bridge scene. throughout the show, ekko is most often positioned where the light touches him. jinx on the other hand likes to lurk and hide between the shadows, either above the rafters of silco’s office where no one can see her, or her own lair-esque private space.

this light and dark theme going on with them could be subtle reference to yin and yang, because these two are from opposing forces. the firelight represents hope, which is what ekko is to zaun. the raven represents grief and despair, which suits jinx since she tends to bring destruction wherever she goes.

i personally think these oppositions arent coincidental. ekko & jinx contrast each other so much but i think that also what makes their characters greatly connect with each other, far more than what the show has let us on. they’re foils of each other, two sides of the same coin.

at least that’s what i think!
