After an exhausting journey to New Orleans, Julia was finally ready to meet some witches. She had heard of there being a ton of them around here and wanted nothing more than to learn from them. Strolling into the cemetery, she could practically taste the magic surrounding her. Eventually she came upon a young girl whose power radiated off of her. “Wow, they weren’t kidding about the magic in New Orleans.”
“Um, excuse me, who’re you? Tourists ain’t allowed into this part of the Cemetery” Monique replied to a stranger with a little hiss, yet still trying to be polite. She was just in a process of performing a healing spell her neighbours asked for their sick son and the Harvest Girl wasn’t in a mood to be interrupted. Then her mind started working. “Another vampire looking for trouble?!”
“I’m guessing manners isn’t something they teach in witch school around her.” She tried to focus on the girl but couldn’t help her eyes from trailing to the ingredients behind her. Snapping back into focus, she scoffed as she looked back at the girl. “I’m not looking for any trouble. Also not a vampire, if that’s your concern.”
“Good to know. Excuse me, but we have a little problem with them around here.” Monique replied and realized maybe that wasn’t the greatest first impression she ever made, she automatically changed her tone. “You know, just tryin’ to be cautious. Yet still, this place is my coven’s property and you’re an outsider.” She scoffed and noticed how the girl was glancing at her ingredients. This time she tried to be nicer. “So what’s the deal? You looking for something specific?”
Julia paused, attempting to figure out the right way to word the reason she was in the Quarter. One wrong word and she’d find herself shunned from the magical community of New Orleans. “Yes and no, I guess. It depends on what you mean by specific.” She strolled closer to the girl as she waved her hand, lighting the candles surrounding her. “I heard that you witches had some big time magic.”
