@mcteratoma
In 2014, I recreated Jacek Yerka's "Bible Dam" in Minecraft. It became the single most 'responded to' piece I've ever posted on social media. http://mcteratoma.tumblr.com/post/82653835597/teratomazone-jacek-yerkas-bible-dam-in Here is my MagicaVoxel version.
Thanks @Ephtracy for creating MagicaVoxel, which makes my flat look shiny and expensive - at least much cleaner. Well, I'm sure I could've included more clutter, which would only have added to the realism this program is capable of.
Previous betas of MV established a work area of up to 126X126X126 voxels the latest (.99) allows for combining 'objects' made in that size (or smaller) in a way that allows for a much larger composition.
Many of the growing number of creators taking advantage of the awesome power of this thing had been waiting for this release largely for this reason. I was able to render every piece of furniture in our little cave - with eerily accurate lighting - at 126X87X504.
I'm not any kind of "speed builder" but I learned a lot about the nuances of the program while working on this over the last couple of days. Its use becomes easier and the shortcuts you intuitively want to use are there for you, so cranking out intricate renditions of whatever the hell you want is just a matter of practice.
You can see some of my other creations on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/teratomazone/
The Teratoma Zone on Minecraft had reached critical mass on the original machine I created it on. I just got it running on Minecraft 1.10.2 on a newer computer. This one has the CPU power to handle the massive world but unfortunately a crappy Intel video adapter. Still, it's nice to be able to return to that project.
Return to The Teratoma Zone!
Spooky really does try to be nice.
EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!
Spooky Girl. She made me promise not to post these.
