Your only obligation in any lifetime is to be true to yourself.

Go and do the things you can’t. That is how you get to do them.

Inside a volcano
There are only a few places on earth where you can visit the inside of a dormant volcano’s magma chamber. One of them is located in Iceland, one of the most active volcanic regions in the world. The island is situated on the Mid-Atlantic ridge where the Eurasian and North American plates drift apart and the earth’s crust breaks creating a large number of volcanoes.

When I’m old and gray, I want to have a house in the mountains. And paint. With a lot of wonderful chums, good music, and plenty of books around. And a damn good kitchen to cook in.

Run
Her gaze scoured the land.
run
she blinked, every rolling hill that she swept over, only enticed her further.
run
with no one holding her back, giving her a reason to stay, she ran.
she has no one to run to or a single reason why.
Every time the ball of her foot strikes the ground, she is reminded of that.
So she leaves.
comfort is complacency.
the sea that surrounds her really just sallow’s her.
wrapping her up, providing her with the comfort of a stable environment.
but leaves her looking above from under the surface, watching the world onshore, while she struggles to break through.
Leaving her smothered, in a standstill, not growing.
She ran away
it is the only option she knows.
because if she stays then comfort leads to attachment
attachment will not allow her
to run.
Cold weather and turning colors. Yes, please. Now that it is becoming "sweater weather" I felt motivated to share a poem I wrote a long while ago- What you didn’t know Through out it all I would have given you my all, All of this world The voids I couldn’t fill Tore the seams in my worn heart To be your muse, To cause the cadence in your voice to soar Once again. To relate the only way you knew how. Tears come and tears past. Dark comes, shadowing my eyes. Stronger, I am now, No longer that I hold you. Not a day goes by, That I don’t think of your hands, Running smoothly along my ribs. Cusping my chin in your firm grasp To see your eyes gleam, With hope and desire once more. You put a crack in me To a place I have never been, Only you have. Fearing the day that crack deepens. I will walk away Loved you, I did. But; No longer can you fill the crack, That you created.
I believe that in our lives while exploring we come to resting spots. These spots are places that, if we had to, we could spend the rest of our lives in this spot and be content with the beauty of it. A spot that brings you calmness in world of non stop movement. The spot in this picture is mine. One of the many freshly discovered areas I've seen while here in New Zealand, but a place that touches me in ways that the other areas haven't. I'm stoked to be coming home for the winter and a little bummed to be leaving such a magnificent place. I've discovered lots about myself during my time here that I'm excited to apply to daily life back in the mountains in Washington. However, I'm already planning my next escape to get back to this beautiful spot and to explore more of such a lovely country. #findingwinter
May I be happy. May I be peaceful. May I be safe from harm. May I enjoy happiness and the root of happiness. May I experience ease and well-being in body, mind, and spirit.
May I be free from suffering. May I hold myself with softness and care. May I be free from suffering and the root of suffering. May I be free from the suffering caused by greed (or anger, fear, confusion, and so on). May I experience ease of body, mind, and spirit. May I respond to suffering with compassion.
